Re: PIF's
What about the "Mass Email" feature of PHPBB? If you created a "hidden" group that had everyone but the one getting the pif, and mass emailed the group, that should reach most people (assuming they check their email. we all know what happens when you ass-u-me though.)

Re: PIF's
I don't have the time to sit here and add every member but the Pif-ee to a group. As I stated on page 1, phpBB doesn't have that 'add all, then subtract one' feature.

Re: PIF's
everyone here found out about this place through email though! so most of us check it
(mine goes directly to my phone)
EDIT: guess it doesnt matter. although you could add everyone now, then delete the PIF-ee when the time came. but it seems to work fine the way it is now... so let's leave it alone.

Re: PIF's
What about creating a list of members who want to be involved with the PIF process? Have people who want to be on the list PM one of the Mods/Admins so that the list is private. When you go to send out the mass email for the PIF, simply delete the PIFee if they're on the list. Then you wouldn't be sending out emails or texts or whatever else to hundreds of people who have no interest in PIF at all.

Re: PIF's
What about a Staff comittment that the next PIF will include a PM to every member? Good enough?

Re: PIF's
I didn't think there's anything precluding you from giving after the PIF initially hits the victim? It sounds like you have good intentions and you want to help... sure that the help would be welcomed before and/or after it becomes public? I'm just saying...RJGill84 wrote:OK...so many the corporation idea wasn't too great. But I don't agree with the "it works fine, so leave it alone" statements because in my opinion, it isn't working fine if people who are willing to give are being left out.

Re: PIF's
In most cases, the PIF is ver hard to swallow for the humble. Continued donations trickling in only make it more difficult for the victim.
I've been there, trust me.

Re: PIF's
I can understand wanting to be involved.
I do have to tell you that there's alot of work involved behind the scenes to pull a PIF off successfully and quietly, and from my perspective, the less complicated the better.
We'll make a supreme effort to divvy up the work next time and make sure the word gets out.
