Re: Alright guys name that sound
Pull the belt off and check for play or noise in any of the pulleys, also fire it up for a few seconds to make sure the noise is not present without the belt.

Re: Alright guys name that sound
Two things may help locate it.
Broom handle etc to the ear and each item pulley driven. The loudest one may be the culprit. "Just donna be a stupida".
Second thing you could try (worked on my Chrysler mini-van) spray the bearing surfaces of the spinning pulleys. The water lubricated the bearings or spindle just enough to make the squeak go away. I was actually on my way to pick up a new alternator after I finished cleaning my car. Rinsing the engine after just starting I got lucky. Tensioner was going bad (which is my first guess on yours)
Of course be careful of the electronics and don't do on a hot engine.

I noticed as the cam got closer to theac compressor it got louder. Bearings could be dry. Also when your checking the belt. Turn everything listen for any odd noise. Also the method of using the broom stick works too. Or you can get a sthesiscope from harbor freight for 10 bucks
Re: Alright guys name that sound
I have a similar noise and it happens when the belt is OFF.. and seems like a dry whine comes and goes sounds like drivers side though.. HELP!!!!
