weird click noise when put in gear and starting from a stop

Im having the weirdest noise and cant figure it out. if i put in gear its a click noise like metal on metal, and always happens when im stopped and start to move again it clicks(metal noise) one time thats it, doesn't happened when im rolling. I know my lower passenger mount (dog bone) is going out and i have the new one but haven't replaced it yet. that's where the click noise sounds like its coming from . But not sure if that bad lower dog bone could make it sound like a metal on metal click (bang). im stumped on this. In my opinion it sounds like a blown strut sound but only clicks once then is fine when im moving, cant tell any other difference.

any advice or opinions i need them

If something is metal on metal (like a mount with the rubber gone), it can make a noise like you describe. If you have identified one bad part already, you may as well replace that to rule it out. Also check the rest of your mounts to make sure they are all tight and not broken, and check front suspension as well.

checked all the mounts when i put the new motor in a few months ago but i noticed the lower passenger side dog bone mount one side the rubber was coming out of it so i bought a new one but havnt put it in yet. all the other mounts are fine. the suspension seems fine other than i have to replace the bushing on the sway bar, the end links are good. so im assuming that the dog bone has totaly gone out, maybe most of the rubber came out and its metal on metal when the motor moves.

Rear dogbones and front trans mounts like to fail in pairs.

replaced rear dogbone last night, still making the noise, ordering new axles , struts, hubs and brakes and rotors, if its still make the noise i dunno haha

If you stand in front of the car with the hood up, and stare at the front trans mount while you rock the vehicle fore/aft by hand, can you see any movement in the mount?

none at all it sounds like a popping noise from the front passenger side, sound like a strut to me but a guy looked at it and thinks the knuckle is breaking in my axle very strang noise but worried about the axle so just been driving it slow ,only makes the noise from a dead stop when i go it pops onces then is fine while im moving.it could be anything i dunno

it was a dumb mistake on my part with the noise. my exhaust was hanging to low for my liking last week so i hung it out with a hanger and i had it to tight and everytime i put it in gear or gave it gas for the motor to move it made the clicking noise. took it off and no noise since, but still have all these parts i just ordered going in this weekend ( new axles, new hubs, new rotors and pads, new shocks/struts. should ride a little better .

Your car will ride much nicer in the end and the parts might have been closer to failing than you'll ever know.
