so is it safe to say with a tune, fwi, exhaust whether its downpipe or headers. tstat and colder plugs.. when u drop to a 3.6 thats going to put u in the 15 flat range.. assuming maintence is up to par and kr is at a minimum. and 3.4 would be around 14.7 or 8? just estimations ofcourse.

Here is a noob question that I bet has been asked a bajillion times but I am still in the process of bringing my SSEi to life. It has a 3.3" pulley and no headers (yeah I know, just ordered some), high flow cat and mufflers, CAI and tune. Now I have only gone WOT for 8-10 seconds because like I said, I am still overhauling the car. I figured that would have pegged the boost gauge but it only just got into the orange for 10psi.
So my question is what is the average boost that should be seen with a 3.3" with the listed mods? Seems like 12-14 should be within reason, no?

Good rule of thumb is .1 inch of pulley equals 1 pound of boost, however there are many variables that can change this.

So to start, the jmb fenderwell intake is installed. Been running it for 3 days now. Tomorrow I will hook it back up to the snapon scanner and get my kr read again. Id like to see the difference in every change. This should be interesting.

Yeah I must have a failing blower. Wasn't completely happy seeing so much of the black coating gone from the rotors but knew the bearings and coupler were good so just went with it. I can only get to 10psi and that's only after 4000 RPM.

Yes. Going from a paper filter to an open cone in the fender made a big difference in throttle response. I have posted a picture on the Facebook page.

Im sure you could get something in a raw metal shipped if they are stilll manufacturing them. Ive been busy all week long and im not sure if ill get my new kr read after this install. Quick question though. Would a failing catalytic converter cause any kr?

The stock boost gauge will not read accurately above 6 psi stock pressure with 3.8" pulley.
I make 15 psi with a 2.9" pulley per the Interceptor gauge....not sure how accurate that is either.....but the factory gauge is still in the orange.
Loss of rotor coating will lose pressure.....not sure how much.
I had to replace the rotors in my original Gen3 before switching to the Gen5.
The coating was 60% gone with only 25K miles.

So I removed the cat last night. Couldnt get the scanner as the owner had it on a test drive checking a car over. This for sure will remove a ton of kr for sure. Cat was removed because the material inside was fallin apart and clogging the cat. We cut the cat off at the flange, welded a 3" pipe to it, 2 1/2" reduced into the pipe pre downstream o2. Did the sparkbplug non fouler trick to the o2 sensor, welded together. Done. I havent known of the cat being bad.we found the flex on the downpipe to be broken. So now I either have to order the downpipe or a set of headers.

Headers would be smartest route for dropping pulley. Just a PITA to do. But ull be able to safely drop with a tune and ur intake.

been a while since ive been on here. havent had my car in a month because of a hail storm and its been in the body shop being taken care of. as an extra, hes taking care of my rusty quarter panel. so i cant complain much at all. but im on the hunt for a set of headers now. ssac doesnt list the l67 headers anymore. speed daddys are still listing around $300+. cani get some input on what headers i can get? i will be getting them soon. brakes are coming first as a drilled/slotted set with ceramic pads and fluid being bled gravity fed with ate 200

Speed daddys list for right around 250 on ebay, and 216.99 on their website and are by far the best bang for your buck.
