Fuel Injectors

Post by irish91983 »

Hi all

I was wondering across all the different platforms with the l67 Bonneville, grand prix, regal, etc would they all have the same fuel injectors or does on platform or year have better then other?

I ask cause I picked up a set from a 96 Rivera today cause my all my plastic discs are broken on my injectors in my
car. The ones from Rivera seem to look a little different.

Thanks, Keith

ZZP used to have a really nice picture diagram showing all the different injector styles through the years, but the link isn't working anymore: http://www.zzperformance.com/blog/wp-co ... ectors.pdf

It was similiar to that, but it compared the stock injectors.

Close up view of two of my six stock L67 injectors out of my '99 GTP. Not sure if this will help for comparisons sake.

I have a mix of original 2000 bonneville injectors and 2003 (I think) GP gtp injectors in mine right now. I haven't seen any problems with them.

It's usually not a good idea to swap out injectors for differently flowing injectors without a tune. I would never change just one to a different style too.
Series 2 L67 injectors are the best one's to get.
Series 3 L67 injectors are ok, but not as good as series 2 because series 3 runs higher pressure through their return-less fuel system.

from http://www.gmtuners.com/flow/index.htm
3800 vin C injectors -- 19.0 lb/hr

3800 vin L injectors -- 21.2 lb/hr

3800 SC vin 1 injectors -- 29.0 lb/hr

3800 Series 2 (non SC) Rochester 17103146 injectors -- 21.2 lb/hr

3800 Series 2 (non SC) Bosch 0280150973 injectors -- 21.2 lb/hr

1996-up 3800 Series II Supercharged (white LS1-style) -- 36 lb/hr
I've also heard l32 injectors are 33 lb/hr

series 1 injector:

series 2 NA(L36) style injector

series 1 and series 2 injectors sit at different heights afaik
