Giving her an identity
Giving her an identity
Hey guys,
So this is something that has been on my mind for a while, but haven't had the time to really start it. Basically I want to give my car a little more of an identity and give it a little "flair" to distinguish it a little more. So I came up with this:
http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/ga ... play_media
The plan is to get either a white or a chrome decal made and center it on the bottom of the rear window.
Let me know what you all think!
Edit: For some reason I can't get the image to display with the [Img/] tags...So I guess a link to image will have to do for now

Definitely to each his own, personally I'm not a fan of putting any kind of stickers on my car/windows, I have a magnet for my dogs on my trunk, but that's easily removable.
However, IMO, I'd go with white over chrome if you're going more on the decal route. After working with cut vinyl for a few years, chrome tends to fade quicker and really just looks "cheap" on cars.

I admit I am not a fan of lots of decals and bumper stickers on cars, but one or two tasteful ones are fine in my book. I don't plan on making it too big or overbearing, at most like 6"x6".
I think I will go with white now that you say that. Def not something I want to look cheap. I'll post pictures when I put it on the car.
As for the logo itself though, anyone have any thoughts on it?

The logo is definitely something that's up to you. It seems like you're really into transformers, and I'm a big fan of the movies, and have been of the series since I was a little kid.
If you're not dead set on it yet, try taking a picture of your car at the angle you want the logo at, and try photoshopping it on there. That way you can see what it would look like roughly before you put it on your car. I did that before I plasti-dipped all the chrome on my Buick, and it really helped me make the decision

A simple logo like that is not bad.
Some people hang little purple dingle balls all around the inside and hang fuzzy dice from the rear view mirror, LOL.

I'm definitely a transformers fan. Like you I'm really into the movies and i always watched the TV shows when they were on. One of my nicknames at school is actually Contatron, lol. Doesnt come from me being a transformers fan though.
Lol, I dont get why some people hang a bunch of stuff off their rear view mirrors

Re: Giving her an identity
I think it's a pretty neat idea. I like making a car different from the others. We slapped an Autobot decal on our Camaro and got a 3rd brake light decal that says "Autobot JR" (for mine and my dad's initials). With my Bonneville, I wanted it to be my Batmobile. I now have a pretty awesome Batman decal on the back tail light of my Bonneville. People love it, and I see people smiling at me all the time on the interstate, haha. Plus, like you, I love Transformers (and Batman). Yes I'm a child at heart, but I enjoy the fun of the car names and entertainment.

If it's what you want and what you like, go for it. However, IMHO, the transformers thing is pretty played out...
Bye Bye:
