EGR valve gasket?

Post by Zeik75 »

I pulled the egr for the 88 apart and broke a bolt. In this time of turmoil I have forgotten wether or not a gasket is supposed to go here?

The egr

Two plates that gasket could go in between

Anyone know if a gasket goes here? I think I cleaned one off but my head gasket kit I got doesn't have one and I called around looking for one that matches the shape. Couldn't even find one on rock auto.

If there is a gasket that goes there and I can't find it could I just use copper rtv or something?

Thanks guys

Found this in my book. It's called egr base gasket but that is all I could find and it yielded nothing when I searched the inter webs for it.

I pulled my egr valve on my 2001 bonneville and broke 2 mounting bolts.
