Its been FUN......

Post by Bvill_GXP »

Well, since sept 2013 My bonneville has been having some major electrical issues. It's been to the dealership and even they couldn't find out whats going on with it. They said none of the computers in the car is not talking to each other!! In short, i drove the car to work everything worked great, 12hr later the car wouldn't start like the batt was dead, but the volt meter was on 13volts.. After sitting in the parking lot for about 3 mins wondering what was going on it decided to start. But it was idling alittle to high IMO, but i drove it home anyway and onces it was turned off it didn't want to start up again. I take the key completely out of the car and the fuel pump would still be whinning and the only way to get it off was to hit on the back seat with your hand.. And the only way we got it to even turn the engine over and start was to leave car in park and push the car backward and hold it in that position and the car started with no issues, but still idle alittle high.. SO we tried almost everything including pulling the seats and carpets out checking for loose wires and even taking the fuse panels under the hood and back seat apart and pushing the connecters back and installed the fues/relays. This went on for 4 months trying to get this car issues worked out and fix, but with a 6yr old and a newborn and the 1 car we had left got totaled a week before our newborn was due. Even though this GXP was the best car i have ever owned and i wanted to keep trying to fix it i had to give up on it....Since i was pissed off at GM i went and picked up a new 2013 Ford Taurus Limited... Now we are in the market again to replace her totaled car!! Maybe another GXP!!! NOT.... Looking at a SUV! But Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who answered questions i had posted or pm'd them and to the owner of this site for running a well put together site! Maybe i would be able to get back into a bonneville GXP in a couple of years when im more able to spend the money to keep it up or fix it if this was to ever happen again! But for right now im happy with the 100K warranty on the Taurus... I will still be checking out this site from time to time to see what you guys are going with your GXP's... Until then later guys/gals!! Ron

Nice looking Taurus, too bad about the unfortunate luck with the Pontiacs :( no need to leave though, we would still be glad to have you around even if that means sharing pics of the Taurus :)

Sorry you had to let the GXP go and good luck with your new car. The dealer should have been able to fix it. It sounds to me like the PCM went bad. Did you ever post the problem here? And what happened to your GXP?
