Rear Wheel hub replacement

Post by snowth1ef »

I was able to find a pretty good guide on replacing the fronts, a very detailed youtube video actually. But with all my searching on this forum and elsewhere I can't seem to find a walkthrough

I'm very mechanically inclined, I've done wheel bearings on many cars, I just like to know what I'm getting into before I start if I can.

So I would be very appreciative if any of you guys Had info or a guide on replacing the rear wheel hubs/wheel bearings. Thanks!

If you've done others, you can do these. It's pretty straight forward. Raise the vehicle and support it properly. Remove the tire, caliper and bracket (supporting those properly), remove the rotor and disconnect the wheels speed sensor. Then remove the four bolts holding the hub. The hardest part will be reaching those bolts as they're partially blocked by the control arm. Remove the hub and brake shield. Clean the face and bore of the control arm. Reverse the order to install. Hub bolts are 52 ft lbs.
