My 1968 Chevy C-10

Post by radomirthegreat »

I got this for free! The previous owner did a pretty good job painting it flat black and redoing the truck bed in wood. Since that effort, though, some things have rusted through, the body mounts are gone, and the wooden truck bed is rotting slightly.

In the truck bed is the original head with a smaller carb because the two were cast together, and the previous owner had wanted to put on a larger intake. He put on what looks like a Holley 600, and he also welded on dumps that are intended to come out of the hood. It's as very interesting setup. I hope to sell the carb and other pieces and put in some other sort of drivetrain.

The 5-speed trans is great, though. It's from an early 90s S-10. The PO cut off the stick shifter and welded on a huge metal rod for extra awesomeness. I aim to change that too, though.

You may recall this from a Craigslist personal ad I had put up 6 years ago. Since it gets flagged every time I post it, I have archived it here:

Before having it towed, I put the hood back on. It's almost back together. I've been trying to consider working on it soon.

That's quite the truck Rad, lol. I have a pair of 67's, and my grandpa has a 72 GMC C2500. My 67 C20 has a 250 I6 and 4 speed manual, lol.

You won't find anything like that in NY unless theres a barn hoadder around here. Most vehicles like this have been shipped off to the scrap yard long ago by scrappers lookin to make a buck.
1995 Jeep Cherokee Country- 200,XXX miles and running strong. 4.0L paired with a 5 speed manual. 4.5" long arm lift with 32" tires and regeared to make up for power. Best of all, shes a fire engine red!

2000 Bonneville SSEi- 145,XXX miles, bonestock for the time (don't hold your breath, it might be a long while)

Typos courtesy of LG Optimus G- yes, I do most of my trolling with my phone. Don't judge me.

I hope you can lock that bad boy up, I'd hate to see that sweet cup holder walk off.

Thanks for the positive comments!

The 66 & 67 years are vastly different. Beast, do your old trucks still run like new? This one has an I6 that seems to want to keep running even after being rained in. I am changing it out, but the previous owner was less kind. And Sirius, the locks still work. The cup holder is a treasure.
