Re: adding heated mirrors
you might have to see if the main harness has the plugs for it. Try and see if anyone here has a wiring diagram for your car. Sorry I couldnt help.

If they have a blue tint to them they are heated and auto dim, not sure if the wiring will be there if not stock on your car though

Re: adding heated mirrors
I didn't think the '93 had autodim? I have blue tinted side mirrors, only ever saw auto-dimming in the center rear view mirror. Also fairly sure there was only 1 harness connector for the side mirror which I thought was just for the mirror control.

Re: adding heated mirrors
I have the heated mirrors. There is only one connector. Im just not sure if the harness would be the same as a stock Bonneville mirror.95naSTA wrote:Pretty sure my 95 didn't have extra connectors in the door.
I never actually watched them to see if they were auto dim either
Re: adding heated mirrors
Theres only one connector as far as i know, the heated mirror just has more pins in the connector.

Re: adding heated mirrors
^^ Yep, just blue tint and heat, one connector. I think 2003 SSEi added heated mirrors to his old 93 SLE. He'd be the one to ask, but I vaguely remember him having to tie into another circuit for the heat to work. Stock, they turn on when you use the rear defroster.

So how about the Park Ave autodim side mirrors? Is there a different rear view mirror and harness to operate them?

Re: adding heated mirrors
Does anyone know what year and model Bonneville the heated mirrors were available on? Do they have a defroster icon on the mirror glass that shows they are heated? I'd really like to try and find a pair in the junkyard and add them to my car.

Re: adding heated mirrors
Look for the blue tint on a 92-99 SSE, SLE, or SSEi. There is no marking.

Re: adding heated mirrors
I found a wrecked 130k miles '98 SSEI with heated mirrors this weekend. It was white, and my SE is green, so I pulled the glass, the motors, and the wiring harness to swap them into my car.J Wikoff wrote:Look for the blue tint on a 92-99 SSE, SLE, or SSEi. There is no marking.
The heated mirrors and the non-heated ones use the same 8-pin wiring connector. The non-heated connector uses four of the pins, and the heated ones use six pins. I haven't pulled my door panels to verify that my car is pre-wired for heated mirrors. I'll post some pics and an update once I've done the swap.
The mirror glass seems softer than the window glass on our cars. I've scratched my mirrors scraping frost from them. It would be nice to be able to just push a button and have them defrost. It's not a huge deal, but it would be a nice option to have.SSEBonne4evr wrote:I pulled the heated fuse on my SSE, never could see the use of these.
