Still Having some issues

Post by Mfitzy »

Hey everyone, I still am experiencing a hard shift some days it happens some days it does not. Also when I am on the highway going 65 or so, I feel like it shifts into fourth and when im at 1-3 psi with the supercharger it will feel like its sputtering randomly, but if I push down and give it more gas and go into overdrive there is no issue. There is also no issue if I punch it, I do not have an emulator hooked up to the 02 sensor yet I had purchased the magnaflow hiflo cat off of W's body store so my light is still on, i'm not sure if that could be messing with something in the computer or what. I am going to get a new pressure control solenoid and get that put in hopfully within the next 4 weeks but if you all think I should try something different before I drop $500 to get it fixed I am all ears! Thanks guys!

Nope, that's definitely a PCS issue. You could try a shift kit, that basically masks the symptoms and is cheaper, especially if you can install it yourself.

Do you think that is what also is causing me problems in 4th gear with the stumbling, or whatever it is when i'm around 65-70 mph and at 1psi or so?

If you feel stumbling under low throttle when the car should be shifting back to third gear you may have a worn valve body. Look on the Triple Edge Performance Web Page. When I had the rebuilt valve body installed it solved the problem. It also comes with all new solenoids installed.

Thats a really good price, i'm thinking that might be the best bet because It would also be a bit of preventative maintenance. This may be a stupid question but do you have to drop the transmission to replace the valve body?

I believe it can be accessed from the left side of the car by removing the wheel. You may have to drop the subframe. I paid a transmission shop to do the work but I know they did not pull the tranny out of the car.

How much did the transmission shop charge you, if you don't mind me asking?
