I say keep the car and swap in another engine. It looks too nice to part out.

I am with everyone else who has also said it. It is too nice to part out.

Keep it and drop in a new engine. Youll probably end up liking it better than the SE. :dontknow:

I don't think any one wants to see this thing live more then I do, it just isn't in the cards right now. I thought the engine was junk to begin with but had some hope it was something simple and I just don't have the time or money right now to do an engine swap in this thing. I am doing a complete renovation on a house right now so that is where my time and money needs to go, I just knew I couldn't go wrong with this car even if the engine was bad. I will be making up a price list for the parts in the next couple days, but basically the parts will be priced around what they normally are around here. Headlights, tail lights, spoiler etc will be polished before shipping and in like new condition. Pics of everything will be available before purchase and I would be willing to knock some price down for multiple items. I will have it in the for sale section soon. But if you really want something feel free to PM me, to work out a deal.

Sell it to haro, he will tow it up to his place and fix it up for one of us to buy. Then you can spend your time fixing up your house instead of stripping the car and shipping parts.

I bought it to either fix and drive or part it out to make money, he wouldn't give me what I would want for it, I can make too much parting it out.

Would you consider selling the whole car to one of us? If so how much would you think?

Guys, yes its a GXP, but it also has almost 200,000 miles on it. Even running it isn't like this is some ultra rare car that is worth a ton of money. It looks real nice but it is worth much more in parts then as a whole, if you haven't done a Northstar swap in one of these cars yet (I think probably Andrew is the only one that has even removed one and that was from a wrecked car) you have no idea what you are getting yourself into with this beast. It is not a simple weekend swap unless you have a lift and a ton of mechanical experience and even then unless you have done these before you will hate yourself for doing it.

I was told the trans was replaced 5,000 miles ago but there is no proof so even if I did swap the engine who is to say the trans might last only 2,000 miles then die as well?

If I sold the car outright right now as is, I would probably ask for $3,000 and keep the GXP wheels, nobody is going to go for that.

I was thinking about you too but for some reason forgot to add you in the group  these definitely are not as easy to swap as a 3800. If I had the time to swap the engine though I certainly would in a heartbeat, main issue here is just time.

I don't plan on selling mine, but I wonder how much interest you'd get from the general public if you were to make it an L67 GXP.

I honestly have tossed the idea around for myself since I am still looking for an L67 parts car to swap into the SE, I just don't really know what all needs to be done and if I could do it successfully with the time I have.

If you have both cars sitting next to each other, easy weekend swap. You have to swap a lot of stuff, but everything bolts up. I only made 1 wiring change like I said.

That doesn't seem too awful, I know I could do the mechanical work, just the electrical stuff would have me confused. One wire doesn't seem bad at all though. Do the fuel lines need replaced all the way to the tank? Tank need to be dropped for that?

Swapping the fuel lines as a whole is easier than swapping the connectors. You don't need to drop the tank, all 3 disconnects are by the fuel filter.

Nothing electrical to be confused about. The wiring harness is plug and play. You can start and run the car without the modification. The wiring addition is only adding an Ign3 fuse to give power to the EBCM.
