Trunk leaking water

Post by terrancew3 »

So it seems like after I pulled my reflector off to black it out, I get water in my trunk lid. And now when I open my lid up water just spews out all over my stuff, and I've seen it coming out of the grey felt liner stuff on the bottom. Does this mean the holes on my reflector are probably not sealed, or is there a different place that water can come in from?

I had the same problem. Pulled the two rubber plugs from the bottom next to the seal and that solved it.

Every day that its rained, I've pulled them out and it drains. Is there a way I can leave them in by poke holes im them to let water seep out, but not leave the hole completely open?

I pulled mine out for the time being less gets in the trunk that way but it will still get in there. You probably broke one of the plastic clips or didn't get it snapped in right.

I even drilled a hole in the center at the bottom, pulled the center panel, repositioned the plastic clips, and sealed all of them with silicone sealant.. But I am still getting water in the lid, although it has gone down by 90%. Also removed the spoiler and sealed all the holes there too.

I don't think I broke the clips, cause they came out with both sides intact. I could try pulling it off again and putting silicon around it this time.

My 2000 did that too. The tail panel on trunk lid was leaking through mounting holes if I remember correctly.
