FINALLY finished my interior UPGRADES! Lots of PICS.

Post by forg0tmypen »

For the past 4 months I've been toying around in my spare time with the Scotchprint 1080 vinyl wrap. Here are the results. Total pieces wrapped was around 17. Hardest piece: drivers side mirror controls. Sheesh!

Just finished the drivers side door. The car is a sauna here in FL during the heat. The vinyl can tend to bubble if it isnt wrapped correctly and the surfaces prepped accordingly.

The front piece took a few times to get right, I still might even redo it. Getting the corners right around all the vents was tricky. A prep ashesive and a clean surface are vital.

Passenger door is much easier to wrap.

View of the interior. The dash was absolutely cracking and breaking apart. I ordered a $50 dash cover and absolutely LOVE it. Search ebay for "bonneville dash cover" they're custom cut for the dashes in our cars and other cars as well.

One of the rear doors I wrapped. Nothing fancy.

Was really hard to wrap the inside of the door lock trim piece. So I decided to get creative with the utility knife.

Another view of the dash cover. It still needs some tweaking but Im very happy with it.

And here is the car from the exterior. Hard to get paint like this without a repaint.

So why did this all take 4 months? Well because Im always working on this *dang* thing. Now thats its in the shop for the next week, I had some time to fool around with the Pontiac. Hope you all enjoyed. I love sharing my hobbies with others who share them.

Very nice. I especially like the carbon fiber accents and the matching carpet kick panels.

Tell me, by "wrapping" do you mean you just covered over the stock door panels, or was the original covering taken off?

Oh great! They don't get any respect.. and merging onto traffic pushes the 3800 II to the brink, but they're a smooth ride and the car of choice on a first date...hint...bench seating hehe

Wrapping is just that. I bought the vinyl wrap from a reseller on ebay and wrapped over the stock pieces. Its supposed to be reversible, but in all honesty, it might leave a residue.

You must live in Texas or Chicago. The drivers in Los Angeles, San Francisco and southern California drive pretty much like angels compared to here (in Texas) - BC
