Spent a few hours (9) detailed the SHO today

Post by donky4444 »

It was pretty clean but not like I wanted it. Lots of road grim down the sides that just had to go. It was a lease so I'm sure it has never been waxed. I did the clay bar, Meg's paint cleaner, Meg's paint polish and the Meg's gold class carnauba wax and waxed all the glass. Yesterday I used black magic titanium wheel cleaner and turtle wax chrome wax. I still need to do up all the black plastic parts but that will be another day.

WOW!!! Looking SHARP!!! That body style is the only body style Taurus I like. I think Ford hit a home run with it. - BC

Ditto. Very sharp car. That twin turbo 3.5 must hook up nice with AWD - how do you like it, and what kind of mileage have you seen?

I just got it Thursday and have only put about 70 miles on it so far. The acceleration is awesome and it is super smooth even at high speed. Hard to say on the mileage so far, I had it on idling for a while when I was setting all the options up. I'm going to be ordering a tune from Livernois Motorsports this weekend and should have it installed next week sometime. They say stage 4 is good for about another 100 HP which should put it around 400 WHP. All the guys on the ecoboost forums say the tune changes so much in the way the car drives.

Thanks for the positive comments on it. It's the first white car I have owned. The pearl really shows in the sunlight.

Looks good! I take it that it's AWD? What is the power limit of the stock drivetrain?
Bye Bye:

Looks lovely. Wish they sold it in the UK, but sadly the market for full-size cars without an upmarket badge on the grille is non-existant over here.

I have to say, a loaded up Taurus SHO isn't a car I wouldn't drive. I'd just have to go go Ford therapy and LS Confession to do so. Lol.

Great looking car though, congrats on the purchase.

I was using my iPhone so it was probably flare on the lens. Who knows.

AWD yes. Not sure what the limit is but one guy on the Ecobbost Performance forum has a Flex with the same drivetrain and he is pushing 600 HP at the wheels with the stock trans and stock internals on the motor. He is still trying to get it all tuned right to do some good 1/4 mile times.
