My holiday weekend plans

Post by nishnobguad »

This is what probably most of my weekend will consist of. This is my first time using the clay bar and polishing any car, AND I’ve never used this particular wax. I have used Meguiars products though and have been satisfied so far. I don't have an orbiter polisher so I will be doing it all by hand. I've been searching the site for tips and pointers on detailing for a while now and I think I may be ready to try it, we'll see! :)

Any thoughts and tips on my arsenal and the actual application process is appreciated. I’ll post before and after pics also for your viewing pleasure, or not! :P lol

You're gonna love how she looks at the end of it.

Clay does wonders, and I agree, she will look great when you're all done! I know mine did after I washed, clayed, and used the black wax.

How did the last detail you had done hold up?

I think you will be very happy with how this turns out :) you should bring it to my place for the Michigan Meet next month!

I'm excited to get started and can't wait to see how it turns out!

The last detail was decent. I could see some faint hologramish looking swirl marks though after a while. All I could think of was your warning Ryan about a "hack detail job" and the picture of that cadillac. It wasn't anywhere near that bad but it did bug the heck out of me. I waxed it once this summer and it seemed to help some. Thats why I wanted to polish it too instead of just clay and wax.

I didn't know there was a Michigan Meet next month but I'm game! When is it?

Excellent :) I can show you how to use a machine polisher to do your car the right way too!
