Cabin air filter?

Post by chisox.fan »

I JUST discovered that I have a compartment to put in a cabin air filter in my '03 SLE. I looked in there and it doesn't have the frame for one but I see you can buy one with the filter at Napa pretty cheap (~$15)

Does anyone use or not use this for any reason? Is it worthwhile? I've gone 10 years without a filter but I wonder if there is any measurable improvement by putting one in.

For 15 bucks it's worth it. I found mine missing as well and put one in just to be safe.

I just ordered one off RockAuto not too long ago. I've noticed that the interior doesn't get dusty as quickly.

I agree, it keeps the dust down, and if you have allergies or kids with allergies, it cuts down on the crap you breathe in. I live in a rural area, and in the spring and fall there's a lot of dust from farming, so it's nice to filter a lot of that out before it hits my lungs, when I can.

I just picked one up with housing for $16 from Napa. It is inexpensive so why not give it a try...can't hurt.
