Climate control problem
Normally I never use the air in my car bc I always drive with the windows down so I always feel connected to the road, but in July in nj when we had thoes 2 weeks of it being 100-110 degrees out I turned on the a/c and found out that, I doesn't matter if its just the fan or a/c but on the digital read out when it says it's shooting at me it's only ever shooting at my feet, it always shoots at my feet no matter what, so I turned the defroster on to at least get some cold air aiming up but it still shoots it at my feet but it will shoot it up as well if the defroster is on, so no matter what I do, it always shoot it at my feet. Any idea on what in the world is going on here, I mean it's not a big issue bc I hardly ever use the air but it is still a problem that I want fixed reguardless

Re: Climate control problem
there are a lot of posts in the 92-99 section about problems that are similar to yours; generally it means you have a vacuum problem somewhere in the HVAC system. start at the intake manifold. look for the intersection of the large hose from the power brake assembly and a small plastic or rubber hose about 3/8 in in diameter. follow this small hose along the firewall looking for cracks, rot, etc. if you find no problems up to the point that it enters the firewall going into the passenger compartment, then you may have a vacuum connector problem at the HVAC program control module.
look for the program control module above the passenger foot well. there are several steps to removing the program control module to access the vacuum connector. once you have access to the vacuum connector, remove it and look for torn, collapsed, or other obvious damage to the rubber nipples protruding from the program control module.
if you find damage there is a procedure in this forum for a DIY repair.
these are generalities, if you need more specific help, post with what your find.

Re: Climate control problem
Awesome thank you so much for your very very detailed answer, I'm gonna give it a look over this weekend, now is this a problem that could run me into the hundred bc I'm not to pumped about that bc in the last year I've our about 2k into repairs which should of been more like 3500 but my mechanic is a saint and knows I have to pay for it all so for me 4 hours of labor = 1 hour lol

Re: Climate control problem
not very much to repair if it is just vacuum lines, only a few dollars.

Re: Climate control problem
When I had this problem it was a vac line under the dash, drivers side.Check the ones under the hood first looking for cracks and dry rot as this is the most likely place,if not there then look under dash.
