New New New!!!

Post by Ms. Sixty »

I went to Kalamazoo, MI saturday and picked up a car and rims from a friend of mine. I'm happy and got a hell of an awesome deal!

Lets start with the fun stuff!

believe it or not this is my first EVER major aftermarket purchase!

I love them, I think they look amazing with the car, I've already had people checking them out today.

Don't mind the grille. 2 weeks ago on a friday the painter at work primed this for me and told me he'd paint in on monday so I can put my new bowtie on. Well it still sits like this 2 weeks later...

The new car. And for the people at the last MI mini meet, Yes I caved and bought a red car!

The car has a TON of aftermarket parts on it, magnaflow exhaust, etc etc etc I can't even list it all!

On the way home

Finally a sunroof!!

The car needs either a intake job or the head gasket is bad or the head is cracked. I haven't got into it yet to find the problem. The car has 198k on it, the tranny has 68k on it, the interior is in premo shape, it's a great car I picked it up for $400.

It needs a drivers side window vent, and the back window needs retinted, I might buy some seat covers because I'm going to let my dad drive it because Diesel is like $5/gal right now, and I don't want the seats dirty.

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with BBQ!!

Are you on Beretta.net?

Never had one, but a friend did and is still a mod for some reason. Their meets inspired me to start our own BFest (never happened...yet).

No I'm on bstuff.com Bnet is kinda dead, everyone is pretty much on bstuff now.

The Mi crew has meets all the time. The national beretta meet was in detroit last year and we had members from as far away as finland show up!

I really like the rims! Is the red one going to be a winter car?

No the Explorer is my winter car! My dads going to drive it for awhile, then when it snows it's going into hibernation with the black one.

Many think the same way about us. I know you said no offense but...that seemed a out of place.

Anyway, Couple of nice Berattas man! Congratz on the Red one and good luck with the repairs. The rims set that black one off nice!

Same could be said about the bonneville club. Whats the big deal? The club/group isnt about "oh look at our bad rides" it's about a group of people who share a COMMON intrest. Thats what this place is isn't it? You all have an interest in the Bonneville?
Anyway, Couple of nice Berattas man! Congratz on the Red one and good luck with the repairs. The rims set that black one off nice!
Actually try as hard as i might I can't get the dang thing to do anything the kid said it did. I can't get it to smoke, I don't smell anitfreeze...it's crazy! Thanks, I love the rims.

*this isn't aimed at trying to pick an argument*

OK. Here is me trying not to be mean.

WHAT is the huge difference between the Bonneville and the Grand Prix, or the Regal for that matter? What's so original about a Bonneville that isn't original about a Grand Prix? Cars area almost identical besides looks, and minor interior difference.

We have beretta meets because we all share an interest, a hobby a passion. I wasn't aware there was a rule that said you can only hang out in large groups if you have this type certain of car. We hang out because we like our cars, we like the looks, the drive, the history. Did you know Chevy was invovled in a law suit with the gun maker Beretta because of the name of the car? Whats your namesake? The Salt Flats. They made a bonneville convertable. They also made a Beretta convertable in 1990 and it was the Indy Pace car that year. I think seeing an Indy convert. Beretta is more interesting. Why? There are less than 5 in exsistance.

I drive a beretta because I like how they look, how they drive. I love my cars and to me they are special. You might see them as stupid and cheap but that isn't what they are to me. How would you like it if I came to one of your picture threads and said "oh what a total cheap piece of crap, I don't see why anyone likes those stupid ugly grandma cars?"

So you see not everyone has to like what you like to drive. If I REALLY liked the Bonneville I'd drive one. Sadly, all the ones I see come in on trade at the dealership I work at are junk. I don't just drive a Beretta, I also have an Explorer, and will be buying a TA WS6 within the next year. So it's not like ive dedicated my whole life to the car, I love my car, I like everything about my car. Sure it may not be your cup of tea, as it isn't everyones, but what you like doesnt mean I'm giong to like and vice versa.

Depending on what you put into the car, is how the mods are going to work I know a guy in canada who runs 11s with his Beretta GT. And no it's not a drag beretta either, looks just like my red one. I know other guys who run 14s. Our cars stock run a 16.76 or something of the sort so a 14 is pretty fast for the car.

Just because you don't understand it doesn't make it wrong. So please don't be completely ignorant about it.

cheap as in he bought it for $700.00. I'm not flaming the Beretta in any way at all.. I was just asking a simple question, so please don't take offense (again).

I think Berettas are kind of cool, actually. They have fewer things in common with similar cars than you might imagine. Straight out of Wikipedia:

* 1987-1992 Pontiac Tempest (Canada)
* 1987-1996 Chevrolet Beretta coupé
* 1987-1996 Chevrolet Corsica sedan

That's the GM L-body lineup. Not much to it. The Bonneville shares its H platform with far more cars, and the Grand Prix is built upon the heavily used W platform. Berettas are far more original, but I don't think this originality was meant to incite interest. Probably the L body was more effective for some things more so than similar bodies, like J or N, were at the time.

Is that a 3100 in the car? I have a really hard time telling between the 3.1 and the 3.4 for some reason. Probably the UIM.

The corsica was replaced by the Malibu in 97 oddly enough. It's kind of sad they didn't want to make the tweaks to the beretta to get it up to saftey standards to keep them in production

All 3 of my berettas have the 3100 in them. The black Z has 146k, the red base has 198k, and my red z has 69k

The indy pace cars actually pulled about 220-230hp, the cars that were ran on the track, not the ones sold to the public, the convertable never hit dealerships because they couldn't get it just right apparently.... :???:

Here's a fun commercial, someone posted it this morning on bstuff. I'd never seen it before

I'm quoting the girl on this one.. I agree..

Razr you more than have a knack of really pissing people off..

2nd.... A Beretta 94+ with the GX3 Transaxle will be a quick little car and you have to take the time to consider that they are light.. They easily weigh 1000 Lbs less than a Bonneville, and even then if its the auto with the GX3 and 3100 it has a 4T60-E transaxle as compared to the 4T40-E used in later GM cars

And just for sake we have had Fords, and Nissan's at the meets and i am sure I am leaving out a few makes..

I was just thinking before I read this... why didn't Pontiac get a version of this car? I kinda answered myself by thinking "what's the difference between a Cavalier, Beretta, and Celebrity... I don't know." I never understood why Chevy had all those small cars that kinda blurred together. My pick of that bunch would have been a Beretta Z though.

Are there many Quad4's still running around in your club? Those suckers impressed me 2-fold. They handle like a go-cart and are solid pullers at the track.

Thats a good question... I have a Hate for the Quad after working on many of them.. But they did make some power and do have my respect in that department..

But I had a family member that Had A Beretta with a 2.3 Quad 4 HO... Attached to a 5 speed... Oh boy would that thing run :twisted:
