Was out looking for a truck when I came across this car. Its a 2004 Bonneville GXP with 34,000 miles. I paid $8,500 for it. I've taken one trip to Virginia Beach in it and I'm in love. The MPG is outstanding, it glides on the highway and not afraid to pass anything up. Traffic? No biggie at all. Why the heck didn't I know about this car? Must have been under a rock somewhere.
One question I do have, does it always run so hot? I mean, the car has plenty of power, and the gauge never moves from 200, but trying to check the trans fluid, I burned my hand on a few things, then finally gave up and tried later with a glove. All fluids are fine. I am just curious.
I also got an SES code, says the CAT isn't up to peak performance and needs replacing. No power loss, but just wondering if this is a common sensor problem or does it need to be replaced so the engine doesn't stay so hot? I was thinking it may truly be stopped up, but exhaust still comes out when revving, and again, no loss of power. Any suggestions?
One last thing? Is there a link on how to make an avatar and signature photo? I'd like to show off my new beast.
Thanks!!!
