I didnt even use caliper paint and it held up for a couple years. Im not all about RED RED RED, so I grabbed the duplicolor gunmetal wheel pain and it looks pretty okay.

They turned out awesome! Pics to come. I hit them with 3 coats of high temp primer, then 4 coats of red, applied some white Pontiac decals for brake calipers, 4 coats of clear. Once dry I baked all the parts in the oven for 30 minutes at 200 degrees. Cool. Then baked them again.

The finish is great and the clear smoothes out the decals so they actually look painted on

Looks good. The only thing I would've done different was that brackets in black.

Thought about it. I like the big caliper look so painting them red makes the calipers look bigger than they are

As far as chipping goes, i used the 1500 degree FORD or CHEVY RED paint can from Autozone and painted my calibers on my Intrepid and put atleast 2 coats on each caliber and let dry and applied the same 1500 degree clear can and never had issues with discoloring or chipping!! 3 years later still looking good.. But i guest to each it own!!

Those calipers turned out nice!!

The finish is nice, but I think I'll try silver or black. I'm just not a fan of the red, especially on a car with no other red on it.

I seriously thought abou black calipers, but GXP calipers are Red and wanted stay with "tradition". I also thought the black calipers would get lost behind the wheels. Besides....you always have red on a Pontiac. The emblem on the front.

The rotors are not painted. That is actually black chrome. I found these at brakeworld.com in South Carolina. They show up completely smooth with a black chrome finish. A lot like powdercoat, but stronger and with a better finish. In a past life, I was a freight broker/forwarder and know this company very well. They get their rotors from a company in Italy who is the manufacturer of rotors for MB, Porsche, and Fiat. I handled the shipping of the rotors to the BMW plant in SC.

I'm guessing the swept area wore off right away? My EBC rotors were 100% black zinc coated, so that everything but the swept area was black, and the slots were black.

Had the brakes done and turned out great. The EBC pads, new calipers, and these rotors stop on a dime and are quiet. Obviously, the black comes off the sweep area, but still look awesome after. Pics below.

Didn't your calipers come from the factory P/Ced? Mine did. BTW, you can use the air pump for the suspension to "pop" the piston. Why not just rebuild your factory calipers?

Those look like Grand Prix GXP calipers. Mine are red, but say nothing on them.

I could have rebuilt the front, but it was just easier to buy new and paint them. The old one would have needed to ne torn down, sand blasted, painted, and put back together. As for the back one caliper froze up and was "cooked" so just bought new. I spent money on the best rotors and pads so buying new calipers just made sense.

As for the decals, I got them on ebay. Make sure you buy hi temp decals. There is a guy in Indiana and one in California. Both sell great decals. Make sure you put clearcoat over them so they last.
