Today I took my Bonny into an auto electric shop to diagnose why every time I turned on the blinker my cruise control would cancel. I had a friend follow me down there so I could get a ride to work. He noticed that about halfway through the trip my taillight brake lights stopped working but my center brake light still worked... So we mentioned that to the guys down there also before we left. They called me and told me that my main light control unit was the culprit and that it would cost $650 to repair... Also they told me that is was located under the dash so they would have to pull my dash apart to get at it... I told them to wait and not touch anything till I did my research. The diagnosis was free so I'm not out anything yet. I guess my big question is, is there such a thing as a main light control module that may cost a pretty penny to buy? That I you for any help

Main light control module??...
Hi everyone,
Today I took my Bonny into an auto electric shop to diagnose why every time I turned on the blinker my cruise control would cancel. I had a friend follow me down there so I could get a ride to work. He noticed that about halfway through the trip my taillight brake lights stopped working but my center brake light still worked... So we mentioned that to the guys down there also before we left.

Re: Main light control module??...
There is no main light control module. Some of the lighting goes through the dash integration module, but that's for the headlights. There is a turn signal/hazards module, but that is easily accessible as it is right behind the hazard button.
The center brake light works off from the same circuit as the rest of the brake lights. It sounds as if you have a break in your wiring somewhere that would have to be tracked down. As the brake switch will also deactivate your cruise, it's possible they could be related. Or there is a problem in the multifunction switch or circuitry.
