His tires are roasted good, but have a few seasons on them. Probably good for a few passes tomorrow, and then that's it.

Mine are good for another season or two maybe.

Our cars are another story. Rocker panels are so caked with rubber our legs stick to them when we get in and out of the car.

Do you think you are going to hit 13's tomorrow? You have worked more on Zilla than I have on my last 3 cars, I would like to see it pay off for you.

I haven't done anything new. The intercooler is not on the car. I had no time to turn prototype 1 into something beefier I was willing to run at the track or on a long trip, and I lost the rotor plate bearings in the supercharger I machined for it, which allowed the rotors to beat all their coating off. I have replacements now (thanks to Harofreak), but there wasn't time.

I'm running the same LIM and supercharger I ran last year (I preserved that top end in case this happened). I do have a new motor (as of March?) with a little better compression thanks to that popped piston, and I do have the larger fuel injectors I should have had last year, but I honestly don't expect to do any better than last year's PB. That looks very practical considering the past history. We always run 0.5 quicker Saturday morning than we do during the afternoon test/tune. That puts me right back at 14.2 hopefully. My LSD also didn't make it in time. Judging from my fuel tank, I'll be running with a bit too much fuel in the tank this year, and as usual, I'm not gutting my car for weight savings.

Just woke up, time to hit the shower and get the dog and grumpy Katie in the car at a far too early hour.

Been a good day so far.

Conditions are decent, track prep is not perfect but it does not appear that bad either.

So far elimination wise in the first round...

Winners on the bonneville side so far

Wren......14.60
SSEiMatt......14.80
PDXGTP (Wren's 95)......15.12
Cujo..14.somethin

I may have missed one...I'm in the stands and cant see the lanes right now

Bob (EchoSSEi) Broke out with a bit faster than expected... 13.67. Quite impressive.

2000 SSEi (Silver Eagle) cleared corners (before accident) new LIM gasket, drilled 180 T-stat, new plugs and wires, new valve cover gaskets, new Supercharger gasket, third brake light overlay. Hopefully soon to start more mods for performance. Also, 2005 White SE totally stock and will remain that way!

He was running the Zilla's T1R's.

Here's a coupe money shots for you guys:

Image
31 cars raced (15 and 16 in each lane). Other cars attended and didn't compete.

The REAL money shot:
Image
PDXGTP takes home the WCBF Bracket Racing Trophy. Perched here atop his cool ride.

(hired guns are cool......if they do good, you get to take some credit, if they screw up, you can blame them)

We did VERY well in the first half of the first round, and started 15 cars in the WCBF lane against 16 in the Grand Prix lane. Of the first 6 matchups, we won 5 out of 6. They finished that round by wiping out the entire tail end of our line. We lost our 3 biggest 'ringers', rrounds, Echo, and Pdad. That left Zilla, VBCSpangler, PDXGTP (driving SLEeper), singscountry1967, and Bugsi for round two.

Jordan (VBCspangler) and Tracy went out in round two. That left myself in Zilla, PDXGTP in SLEeper, and Bugsi in his SE for the WCBF side of the competition. Bugsi and I went out in Round 3. Thomas (PDXGTP) drove my SLE into the finals and lost by the barest of margins, bringing home second place in the class for the event, and taking home the WCBF bracket racing trophy (along with the Woodburn Dragstrip 2nd place plaque). If I can't win, I'll gladly watch my other car go into the finals. :beerchug:

My round 1 win against a GTP. Had a 0.009 R/T on this run. Note the smoke pouring out the hood vents (see, they ARE good for something) and the amount of smoke IN the car during the run. My throat is sore from all of it.

Oh yes! Please put up a pic of your gorgeous rims! Congrats too!

It was soooo much fun to race. This was my first time - best R/T was 0.067 and my 1/4 mi was 14.959 ...and yes, I forgot to turn off traction control on that even. As for the car... well... let's just say I ended up with an 07 Grand Prix GP (yes, supercharged gen 3) thanks to the efforts of my bf Dave.

There you are.......I couldn't remember your screenname! (you need to be more social).
:laughing3:

Yup. One of 4 Bonnevilles in Round 3, which was our WCBF Semi-finals. You need to PM me your mailing address. I have a small little something to send you.

Semi-final round for the WCBF brackets in order as lined up in the lane:
willwren in Zilla
PDXGTP in SLEeper
Cujo in his 2k on 20's
Bugsi in his Smoke-Rider
(last two may be flipped?)

PDXGTP brought it home for our WCBF trophy after the other 3 of us fell in that round. First time bracket racing, Bugsi makes it to round 3! And the round two cars as well......I gotta work on a better synopsis.

FYI, I have all the raw footage from raceday via greyhare. Over the next few evenings, I hope to get it chopped up and edited by driver/car. If you have a specific run you know you'd like to see (some from the finish line, some from the start line) let me know via PM.

Great vids and great runs! That looks like it was a good time for all. A good showing overall, for the far west Bonnevilles.
