Oil leak diagnosis

I'll jb weld the lines, the new lines. Murphy's Law says I'll jb weld the lines then the line itself will fail. It just makes sense to put in new lines and jb weld where they usually leak. Rockauto shows he lines are 30 bucks so its not a huge expense. Besides the ac compressor needs replaced everything will be torn apart anyway.

Besides. Rumor has it Buick is bringing back the GNX so there may be a trade in on the horizon....if Buick actually does make it and makes it right.

They're just magnified because of the difficulty of working around said engine in an engine bay designed for a V6. However, I will have to say, I still want to find the GM Powertrain engineer that signed off on the location of the power steering pump on a 3800. That was a real braindead, d*ckhead move.

The lines themselves shouldn't fail... unless you're running 100psi through them.

Yup. Its the oil lines. My mechanic said he can make new lines or according to him he has a company that makes a redesigned fitting for this. So to fix the lines, new ac, serpentine belt, and tighten down the cam covers....$1200. I can live with that.

Yea, anything that is a permanent, sealed, torqued to spec fitting will seal. Gotta remember, the OEM ones are meant to be quick connect/disconnect, as such, sealing isn't 100%.
