I know if you go with the advanced key fob (the one with the LCD display), it has 3x the range of the regular RKE and RVS.

You can run a long wire and splice it into the RKE antenna. Guys have had pretty good success with that. My range is pretty good though stock. About 200 feet.

Exactly as John said. I'll be splicing two pieces of wire in and running them up the c pillars and roof rails.

Sheila now has a warranty. They only found a dead cell in the battery, which was actually an issue on my original test drive, so they're taking care of that for free right now. Everything else passed.

I checked also, LCAs would be covered should they become a more prominent issue. I've heard them creak twice in ten days. Once its more of an issue I'll get them done. :D

You know why the OEM batteries are shot so soon, don't you? Even though the G8 got a disconnect tab (or something like that in the trunk).

You guys got lucky. They put some interupt/disconnect thing on the battery to cut power for anything but starting the car and moving it during shipping. I seem to recall reading a bulletin on having to make sure that's disengaged or removed during PDI.

Put in the last of my new speakers this morning. For a net cost of $60 I am very impressed, it sounds just about as good as the stereo I installed in the limo before I sold it.

Got my yellow fogs done today too. Long story short I was going to just do Lamin-X but I ended up with a set of 300k bulbs for free, so why not do both?

Yesterday when I was with Wake, he told me the GXP is louder on the outside than I think. When he says a car is loud he means it. So I had him drive while I listened on the outside of the car, it is really quite loud when you're on it, which is funny considering the interior you can hear a mouse fart if you listen closely.

But I think I'll be satisfied with just a set of axle-backs.

I need to do something with the speakers, but just don't have the money yet, as I'm going to be upgrading my HU and exhaust in the Bonneville in the next couple of months, and will be getting the LeSabre back onto the road.

Yeah, only reason I did stereo so soon is in part because I blew two of the stock Delco-Blaupunkt speakers.

Things are made of toilet paper I swear.... But I had a set of Pioneer components, so I bought a set of Pioneer coaxials for the rear doors, and used a credit from Sonic Electronics that I didn't know I had to buy some 2 ohm Kicker 8s to replace the stock craptastic 8s in the deck. Sounds pretty *dang* good.

As for exhaust, I think the most noticeable loudness is at 3k rpm+. Basically I want to do axle-backs just to give it some volume at low rpm and some sound in the interior when I have the radio down/off. I will of course get Solos because drone is my enemy, and the G8 love to drone with exhaust.

I know at the least we have: Me, Greg, Jerry, Peter G, J Wikoff, and Kyle (though he's not on here much) that all have G8s. And Lane with a GTO.

On a side note, I can't seem to stop playing that exhaust video back to back with Greg's.
