When's the last time you saw a '97 this nice?

Post by Hotwheels »

Seems like a lot of these are rusted and trashed....take a look at this one! It's like a time capsule from 1997.

Just picked it up Friday. Granny fresh 1997 Explorer XLT 4WD, Montana truck till 2005. Clean carfax, never in an accident. 129k original miles, nearly new tires, not a single squeak or rattle, everything works as new. Even has its original cassette player - adds to my theory that it was elderly owned, besides the fact there's pretty much no wear anywhere on the interior.

Has the 4.0L OHV V6, which after owning the 4.0 SOHC and my 4.0 Jeep, is rather asthmatic...gutless above 50 mph. I actually checked to make sure the floor mat wasn't jammed under the gas pedal, lol. Automatic tranny, Control Trac 4WD w/ auto mode, 4HI, and 4LO with electronic dial, and all the usual stuff. Not a particularly special vehicle, but it sure stands out when so many of these are beat up. Really like the color - Deep Jewel Green.

Seats show no wear whatsoever - interior looks nearly new.

Carpets are immaculate - no stains.

Rear seat appears to be unused.

Cargo area has no stains, no wear, not even any scrapes or scratches on the plastic panels.

Wow... that, is, shiny!! I would never believe that to be a '97.

I've never seen vehicles that old by any elderly couple that look that good, inside and out. Nice find!!

Nice! My friend had a '98 just like that and it was in good shape. Unfortunately it was totaled when someone pulled out in front of him.

Yep, it'll be going for sale as soon as the title comes in - one of the first flips that I'll have to do nothing to.

From the front/sides, that looks IDENTICAL to my 98, down to the vent shades, wheels, silver running boards, everything. If it wasn't for me painting the grille and bug shield, I would have thought it was my truck. That is a very clean truck, really makes me miss mine. I just hope you have better luck selling that one than I did. You should, though, mine had a few more miles on it... was just as clean though......... stop buying cars that I want!!!!!!

Not a typical granny-wagon that's for sure.

Amazing condition for its age. You've found yet another gem there. I don't know how you do it!
