Still haven't seen anything to back up the claims that synthetic atf is bad. I'm open-minded about it, bit nothing either way has really caught my eye.
In other news, I'm working on another shopping list. This time its misc button up stuff and suspension goodies. I need a front hub still and a left trans mount. The stock one doesn't have long enough threads to work with the spacers I made to lower the engine.
I'm going to try the Chevy blazer body mount bushings foy subframe. I also ordered up a pair of ad delco 505- gxp struts and I'm lookin at eibach pro kits for an 00-07 eta.

Got a racetronix venturii fuel pump for a GP. Well see if that works. Also will be finding out how badly all my fuel lin3s leak.
Also got a mustang intercooler reservoir but I cant really see a good place to mount it...

I'd have just gotten a generic overflow bottle from Summit Racing or Jeg's. Likely a lot more mounting options. Just my $.02 in retrospect, lol.

I definately looked for something aftermarket. Problem is that overflow bottles are just that; they usually have very small fittings. I guess there would always be the option to cut hols and put my own fittings in, but most of the ones worth buying are pretty spendy, too. I'll just see what I cando with the mustang one. If it doesn't work out ill probably end up fabricating an aluminum one.

Right, so its too cold lately to bother wasting propane in the garage. I did get the fuel pump and the problem I have is that the GP pump uses barb fittings for all three lines, whereas the bonneville has quick connect fittings. So I either have to piece together something to adapt the quick connects to the barbs or find yet another pump can in hopes eventually Ill find the right style can that will let me use the 255 pump.
My pulley collection is nearly complete now that I have a 2.8, 3.2 and a 3.4. I just want a 3.0 to round things out, and thats the size Ive been planning on throughout the build. Im also thinking about looking into some different sized idler pulleys to possibly avoid needing a bunch of belts. That would open the possibility of legitimately being able to swap pulleys whenever I want. Thusly, Ive held off buying any belts until I figure that out.

the GMPD site lists the GXP struts Cheaper than Rock Auto. Also if you visit the dealer they can query the entire GM Inventory and see how many of that particular part number are available.
the other option is to use the Grand Prix Bilstines. They will fit and bolt up, however i believe they have a different spring mount location that would make the car sit higher

Well I did check with the dealer network. There are a couple available, so Ill be asking them about shipping. Ill also look at GMPD...
I once had a look at a strut for an 04+ GP and compared it to a Bonneville strut and not only was the overall length off, but the spring perch as you mentioned, as well as the shaft not being the same. It would require quite a lot of fabrication and expert welding to modify the strut to fit. Something Ive actually looked into...

Few updates:
Got the motor mounts all together with the spacers and hybrid hockey puck front mount. Front mount isnt totally finalised but its funbtional for now until I decide if I need to make something different.
Most of the wiring is back together but a few things are still not hooked up. Need to find new homes for some grounding blocks and whatnot. Most of the underhood hookups just need a final inspection I think.
Im still trying to figure out this silly fuel pump problem. I finnally have a canister with a 255gph pump that will actually empty the tank, but its for a grand prix, so it physically fits but the fuel line connections on the pump are simply hose barbs while the car had quick connects on the lines. Obviously I dont want to cut the quick connects off but I need to hook up the blasted pump... Once thats done, I need to pressure test my fancy -an fuel hoses and hope none of the injector O rings leak.
On the suspension topic, as has been posted elsewhere, the eibach lowering springs are no longer available. Anywhere. So im looking at custom made springs. I believe I got possibly the last pair of ACDelco 505-544 GXP/FE5 front struts and Im looking at alternatives for the rear to avoid paying so much for the fe5 rear shocks...
Its starting to get warm enough that it makes sense to fire up the heater to get some work done. Hopefully next weekend Ill have more progress to report. In the meantime, Im starting on the early stages of my next lighting upgrade, so stay tuned for that...

you need to make a hybrid canister. You need to take the bottom bucket from the GP, and adapt it to the Bonneville Top.

I was going to do something like that but there was something different... I dont have it in front of me so I cant recall exactly why it didnt make sense. Yes, the GP pump i have (a Racetronix) is the venturii setup. I also have two normal 02 canisters that I couldnt get a walbro pump in with satisfactory results and a bare walbro pump, so i could still try to figure out how to get the walbro to work in the normal can and actually be able to use the whole tank of fuel. I sort of doubt it, but ive been thinking of calling them to find out. I imagine the price wouldnt be any better than any other set of custom springs. Remember, regular price on the ProKit was already over $400, wwe just see them for cheap online because the sellers were closing them out...

I looked at the canisters more closely and now i dont think the GP one will even work as a drop in. The sender is different and I cant switch them between the cans. Some of the molded features are also a little different which might make it impossible to put the bottom from one on the top of the other. This is getting really annoying.

Can you just tack weld a mount for the fuel pump on the bottom of the tank itself, or does it have plastic baffles? I'm not familiar with the canister setup, but can the two halfs be bolted together instead of relying on the molded clips?

Everything is plastic. One idea I had was to machine an adapter that would use both ports on the bottom of the canister and connect to the single inlet of the pump. That should more or less duplicate how the stock setup worked and let me use all the gas in the tank.
