Need help ASAP MAjor issue after aftermarket radio install

Hi all

I came here as you all seem the most knowledgeable of all the forums i searched.

I recently installed a new headunit ( pioneer DEH- 6400BT ) in my girlfriends 01 bonneville.

After the install while testing everything seemed to work good ( i mean we just turned it on acc. and tested the radio )

But today as she was going to work, the speedometer is reading well over 100+ mph. WHAT HAPPEN???

I used the PAC C2R-GMR32R adapter cause i was told that would keep the car working as it should.

I connected all the same color wires. but there were two wires i did not hook up cause i could not find them in the wiring diagrams for the PAC device.

they were a orange wire and blue W/ White strip wire.

The radio works perfect and the alarms sound with the door and headlights. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

This is my first install on a bonneville but ive installed around 20 or so headunits and never had this problem.

You probably bumped the E/M button above the radio while installing it. The car is just reading in KPH not MPH.

I would agree with harofreak00. You might feel like an idiot at first, but then you get to have fun with people later that don't know about it

well just to update. I did hit the button and switched to KMH from MPH.....

Looks nice. Can you change the color of the lights on the HU to something in the red/orange family to better match the instrument panel? I was able to do that with the JVC I had in my '95 Bonne. Really made it look more like it belonged there.

It being a single din bugs me a little too, but my rule for my new head unit was that I had to be able to light it up red. Pioneer has a lot of color options for their stuff now. Mine has 125 color options. Looks good. Just be glad you didn't have to deal with rewiring Bose and then having Onstar crap out on you and drain the battery like I did on my SSEi.
