2002 Dodge Ram Quad Cab Sport 5.9L 4x4 144k

It was time for a new truck. With the baby on the way, we needed something with a little more room. A car seat won't fit in the back of my Chevy, so I started looking for a quad cab a few months ago. I saw this one last week and new it was the one.

2002 Dodge Ram Quad Cab Sport 4x4 with the 5.9L 360 with 144k miles.

This truck does have a "flood damage" stamped title. Carfax shows that it was totalled out when it was brand new in 03. Apparently it was sitting on one of Denny Hecker's lots when it was flooded. I've looked everywhere and see NO signs of any flood damage. Check out the pics under the dash and seats. Maybe Hecker was part of an insurance scam way back then? It's been 10 years since the title was stamped, so I think if something was gonna happen, it would have happened by now. I've put about 200 miles on it so far, drives awesome.

I'll replace the drivers door, have the rust repaired, remove the tonneau cover and find a nice topper.

It books for over $9000, paid $4150.

5.9 is a great motor, we had a Durango with it, that thing really moved. It had more stupid little stuff go wrong then any other car we had though, hopefully this one will treat you well

Copart? Replace that door and flip this. I have too many friends/relatives who have had bad luck with the 5.9L Magnum to be comfortable buying one myself.

Sell this and get a clean 2000-2002 Dodge Cummins for $9G (takes a little looking, but they are out there). Double the fuel economy and towing capacity while still having a great truck.

Absolutely no plans of flipping it. I have lots of faith in the 360, as I had it in my last Ram, and my dad has one in his Dakota.

I have no desire for a diesel, nor spending $9k on a truck.

That underside looks real clean. Was this truck rustproofed/oil sprayed?

No idea, but it appears as it might have been. It's been in MN its whole life.

That's because they rust out here. In the south they get driven till they're totally dead and/or smashed to bits.

Looks like a great truck for the money - totally decked out with leather and everything - nice find! Several years ago, I would've rather had the 4.7 to avoid the 5.2/5.9 tranny issues, but now knowing how spendy and troublesome the 4.7 can be, the 5.9 is the better choice. Wouldn't mind having one those myself, particularly a Hemi.

I picked up a door this morning for $75 locally!

You anal freaks might notice the chrome rocker molding is a little wider at the bottom, sticks down about 1/2" more than the other ones... but for $75 I'm not gonna complain.


Also covered up the ugly fake wood on the dash with some 3M Scotchprint Wrap in a black brushed aluminum pattern.




Currently on the hunt for a topper. I found a really nice one, but its 3 hours away and $400. Hoping to do better than that.
