Okay,looked for an hour for codes.Little help please.

Hi guys,

My car pulled 15 error codes today and I could use some help finding a list so I can start understanding and correcting.Hopefully several codes are related to single items and fixing one issue may resolve others.

I see one thing I screwed up on last time and now see what I did.I couldn't find the list (why I am asking now on my 2000 ssei) so I did a general search on the c1234 wheel speed sensor code.Unfortunately I did not notice it was a list up to 1999 so I changed the wrong sensor(I should have been more thorough).

I hockey pucked the transmission mount yesterday but was really bummed the boost isn't going but about up to 5.That will be the "po243".I followed the video of pulling the vac line and lubing the shaft and it appears to fully engage but must be a vac leak somewhere.

I don't expect anyone to go through all these codes but in case you recognize one that gave you a fit I will list them and maybe you can "share the love" and keep me from losing my mind too ha ha

Codes on 2000 SSEI L-67 Series II

C--1214: system relay contact or coil circuit open

C1234: LEFT REAR wheel speed sensor

C-1241: Magna steer malfunction

C-1245: Low tire but not showing on dash info

C-1248 : DRP disabled?

C-1282 :Body roll brake sensor?

C-1283 : Center malfunction?

C-1285: Lateral acceleration out of range?

C-1287: steering sensor

C-1295 : Brake switch open

C-1298: PCM malfunction (can't be good )

U-1255: Loss of class 2 communication? (I have zero clue)

PO-243 : Turbo Wastegate solenoid

PO-404: EGR

PO-1122: TPS sensor

Any of these items that are going to be expensive I will just need to post in the wanted ad's and trust someone to sell me good one's.Hopefully several codes can be cleared up with individual cheaper parts though.

Have yet to enjoy this car at full power since I have owned it and really want to feel it run at least at full stock potential at the least.Thanks again for any help.

When did you change front bearings? If lately then you might have cracked the hubs, ( tightened to much)
Also a rear? Look for slight cuts in ABS wires, purchase or borrow another pcm from same year an model trim and switch pcm. Something grounded out and fried it or you have a mouse that like chewing wires

Does the BCM control a lot of those?

Thanks guys,all the wires "looked good" (didn't ohm them out" though).i did a general search on the WSS and repaired based on 1999 model error code (my bad).Regardless of other junk would really like to feel the FULL boost I have NEVER experienced since owning this or any other Pontiac of ANY year including my 66 Tempest (ok 66 didn't have a Super charger but never even experienced that, I have rode in some WICKED Pontiacs but never had one and I am ready )

For that many codes there has got to be a ground, module , etc that went out.

Are your ABS/BRAKE/trac controls on the dash on?

Is the Trac control light off on the center console?

I would also be looking for a bad module or something. That is an awful lot of things to go wrong at the same time.

I am still operating on old school non computer technology (newest thing I had before this was a 1970 GS 455) sorry to be dumb but module?

Yes trac/ABS,service stability system and traction control lights are all on but thought that was just from a wheel speed sensor

Like a PCM? Hopefully my computer isn't crashing? Other than the irritating lights and fact I cannot get it to achieve full boost it runs pretty good.

Based on it still running well under normal circumstances I just figured most of these new cars are probably going around with a bunch of error codes but sounds like "it ain't so"

If nothing else I sure would like to get that supercharger to hit full boost.

Haven't been able to punch it since I bought it with the bad motor mount and now that I replaced the motor/trans mount I find out I still can't enjoy it's full performance

Any suggestions on what plan of action I should take? Buy or borrow a good pcm from someone as already suggested or just start replacing things starting with that wheel speed sensor that might clear several codes?

Just need a game plan from folks who have owned and worked on these before because I am still a newbie here

I would say in general if you get error code on modern car it will be evap code(loose gas cap generally). Or it will be on for bad 02 sensor. For all those codes I would have to agree bad ground or module issue. I had 02 Malibu that coded effectively every thing in transmission, but yet it would shift wonderful. Turned out to be bad terminal end that connects all the wiring to pcm. I am thinking you have wiring issue somewhere.

I am just mentioning this because I don't even know where the electrical components are stashed away but I think I need to mention this sucker has very bad leaks into the interior.

Every time I pulled the back seat the battery was sitting in 4" of water,back floorboards been totally soaked, and had water up in the headliner (come to think of it my auto adjust rear view mirror,vanity mirror and roof lights are all out too) maybe I didn't hook something up right after I reinstalled it after my leak hunt though.

Also drilled a hole in the battery box area so water isn't standing but windows always fog up no matter how much I vacuum it out and blow and industrial fan in there on nice days.

Is there some critical ground in one of these spots that might have gotten oxidized and caused this you think?

Like you transmission the car still runs great except for half supercharger boost. Getting 21mpg's around town driving (maybe I don't want to fix that ha ha)

Did you find were leak was. That seems to be lot water.

Haven't found them all.Front and rear sunroof drain tubes were all intact but looks like rear spoiler mounting holes had let some water by as well as the the trunk lid outter "light" panel.I can hear air around edge of sunroof that has a broken cable (need one of thos if someone has one) and those rubber seals on both sides of the roof are all drawn up.

Well, I am following this trail I have wandered down after I asked if water in the interior (specifically under back seat,floor boards and trunk) could affect the grounds or electrical.

We had our first ice down here last night and it turned out to be an excellent way to determine one major leak. Taking the kids to school I tried to open the sunroof shade. Frozen . After interior warmed up it opened and it was covered with water all over the whole piece of glass. Then looked back at my rear window that always has water on the inside of it after a rain and I could see what appears to be water that migrated from the sunroof via the inside of the headliner hanging off the headliner edge that mates into the rear glass.

One thing that is for sure electrical components and electrical don't play together very well so going to have to come up with a way to halt these if even temporary. I would hate to do it on a flagship car like this but I am about at the point of professionally sealing the inoperable sunroof with a matching color sealant.

I have not been able to find anything on what I call the "roof panel seals". These are the seals that run down the side of the roof on both sides from the front windshield to rear glass. Mine are so dried out and contracted that I can see the factory primer in the well and some very minor flash rust is forming on rub areas.

Do these lead into the interior when the seals are compromised?

It's not the PCM, first of all. It would be throwing all kinds of stupid engine codes, and it probably wouldn't be running or driving at all. There are many separate modules in the car. Likely the one you have that's bad is the EBCM, that controls the ABS, Stability and Traction Control. Or it more likely is a bad ground.

Your boost problem sounds more like a vacuum leak than anything.

Okay to decode "EBCM" that must be electronic brake control module? I think I saw something related in the "fuse box" under the hood (like a gray 1" cube ?). Is that the one to check? If so how can I check it? Again I hail from cars that still use the old glass Buss brand fuses so trying to catch up here.

Yes, you have the EBCM correct. Unfortunately, the only way to check it is to replace it. Talk to harofreak00.

I knew they had multi pin plugs but did not know what terminals to check across.Never bought one but imagine they aren't cheap.Who is best source Rocket Auto?
