Rare Bonneville Mods **Pics**

Post by drift7one »

was stumbling around CarDomain today out of boredom while up in Chicago, and came across some pretty different and unique (I'm guessing that's not what some of you will think) mods done to '00-'05 Bonnevilles. check out the pics below.

Lambo Doors
Image
Image

just a TAD bit too much here IMO *sarcasm*. but I was more interested in the black roof. whether its vinyl or paint, I think a non black Bonnie with a nice shiny black roof and window tint would look real nice.
Image
here's a G8 with what Im talking about with that roof.
Image

here we got an SE model, which apparently got into a front end accident, and had the front bumper replaced with a GXP bumper... promptly ruined by then painting all the grilles and those little stick on scoop thingies RED
Image

here's something new. we all know about clearing the amber from taillights, but what about EVERYTHING? I actually kinda like it, but it may be reserved for white/ silver Bonnies.
Image
Image
Image

and finally... Im absolutely speechless about this. so gimme your best reply.
Image

Ill also note that on the way home I drove past a Bonneville GXP that was blue. very similar to the GTO Impulse Blue or G8 Stryker Blue. Im assuming it was a custom job, correct me if Im wrong, but man was it a beauty. really wish I wouldve got caught at the light and got a pic.

YUCK LOL Those look horrible on anything that they didn't come factory on, especially a four door!

Pretty sure this guy was also a member here, he said that modding cars like that was what everyone did where he lives...

I want his wheels. I'll keep my tails.

Though I have toyed with the idea of doing that for fun with some spare tails I have. But meh.

I agree with Will, I really like those wheels on that white one, and I wouldn't mind having a set (more than likely not manufactured anymore).

Anyway, a lot of this does not surprise me, as this is the kind of stuff I saw in the Buick world for years, especially when I was living in Savannah. The things I'd see done to LeSabre's and Park Avenue's (and Caprice's) would make me lose faith in humanity. The Lambo doors were very popular around 2002-2005 in the south, so were the spare's mounted to the trunk.

I like the black roof on the G8, not sure on a Bonneville. That's something I'd have to have a good view of to be able to judge.

ALL are toooo much. Lambo doors only belong on....well....im gonna say it.....a Lamborghini!!!

And the wheels on the white one are probably GP GXP wheels(need a better side angle) or the KV5s
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelClo ... tab=wheels

I like these ones better, theyr are smoother like the Bonne GXP wheels....
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelClo ... tab=wheels

or these....

But you cant beat OE Bonne GXPs.

I kind like the Lambo doors, and I like the hood scoops on the SE with the GXP fascia. Am I the only one that noticed the decked out Taurus in the background of the overdone red Bonnie? lol

Continental kits have been around for way longer than that. On some cars they actually look good, like the '80s Caddilacs.
2005 GXP - White Gold Pearl, no mods...yet.
2000 SSEi - Resurrection in progress. Built L67 w/L32 fuel rail, ported heads, and cam. Camaro front brake system, GXP cluster, and much more in planning.

Yes, I agree, they do look nice on some of the older cars out there. I just happened to notice a spike in usage during the early 2000's. Now, it could be because I'm older (or maybe too lazy to notice) and times have changed, but I don't see a whole lot of those 'extreme' mods anymore (at least not on bigger cars). Or maybe no one around my area cares to do it any more. The only things I still see are the lowered imports with giant wings and loud exhausts - those don't seem to be going away.

Needs chrome!!

And those are probably GP GXP wheels. Just about the only thing I'd trade my swoopies for. Even then I'd have to think about it...

I really like the swoopies as well, just wish there were an 18" version. I do sometimes swear at them when it comes to polishing, though. But I really love the look they give when they are spinning and the sun is reflecting off their surface.

Where do I send the tow trucks to "retrieve" those Bonneville's.

The G8 with the black roof, I have seen several done like that. That actually looks halfway decent, but I think you would almost need a red or even yellow (a color the G8 did not come in), to pull it off.
