Not sure where the appropriate place to post this question is...
The local auto parts store no longer loans out their OBD scanners. According to them, the EPA has made it illegal to do so.
I am interested in buying a scan tool or PC based tool that will allow me to read as much as possible (body codes etc). I don't really need the ability to reprogram my PCM, just read all codes and live data would be nice. Does anyone have any recommendations? I know I can't afford a Tech II and don't think I need anything that powerful, but I want something better than a basic OBD scanner for generic engine codes.
Currently I have a 2000 SSEi and will likely remain in the GM family.
