Vacuum Line Connectors
Hey, it looks like almost all of my vacuum line connectors are splitting or split...I temporarily patched them up with tape, and there's no leaks, but I need to know where to get replacements. I checked out Autozone and O'Reilly and didn't really see what I was needing.
Is there somewhere else I should be looking? It would be perfect if they sold a kit...but that would be too easy, right?
Thanks...yet again.

The dealer has a kit you can order, complete, for $20-30

Re: Vacuum Line Connectors
Or you can just get the Tee at the dealer ($3-4) and buy some straight vacuum hose at the autoparts store for all the other connections. About a $1 each of 7/32" and 9/32" vacuum hose will do it. Cut them to the lengths needed and viola!

Re: Vacuum Line Connectors
Heck I wouldn't even go to the stealership. vacuum tees can be bought at the same place as the vacuum line. I just replaced all my lines a month ago for under 10 dollars. I still have line left over.

Even that Tee? I've not seen the Tee at an autoparts place. all the others can surely be replaced with regular vaccum line, but that Tee is a different kinda animal.

Re: Vacuum Line Connectors
Before I make any more comments... Are we referring to the T that comes out of the lower port of the TB? keep in mind I am using a 96 L36 for a reference. I Know the 97 only has 1 port and I can't remember if it has a T or not.

Yes. The '97 SE, for example. has a rubber T at the TB that accepts 2 different sized lines.

Re: Vacuum Line Connectors
Ok , I have seen it at Autozone in the HELP section. I don't recall the part # and its not an exact OEM replacement but it is *dang* close. I have also found that the Autozone stores around here are better stocked than in other parts of the country. Simple reason is their headquarters are here in Memphis.

Re: Vacuum Line Connectors
Well, it certainly would help if you could find some more definitive information on that for all the members here who have had to go the the dealership for this part. As for me, I tried to order this at both Autozone and at Advance, using the Dorman catalogue (makers of the HELP! products) with no success.
In the meantime, one can still get them at some, but not all dealerships for around $3-4.

Re: Vacuum Line Connectors
I think its funny that we all know about "THAT T". That means that everyone has had a failure of the part..improper engineering? Oh well. I can report that in Jan/Feb of this year, that part was not available for Dorman (ie HELP!) from any central florida auto parts store. I also called the local Stealerships and was told that they no longer could access that part from the computer. I did not ask about the "Set" that Haro mentioned. Mine ended up being a Frankenstein's monster of hodgepodge and zipties that I had laying around the garage and "THAT T" is high on my list of premium junk yard finds.
Anyone have a GM part# for the set that Haro mentioned?

Re: Vacuum Line Connectors
I have the P/N for the Tee itself: 24502852
You CAN buy them at GMPD, but you have to get a pack of 5. Mine was all of $2.80 at the dealer. They even shipped it to me. But, like I said above, not every dealer will carry it anymore due to it's age.

Re: Vacuum Line Connectors
I just ordered a bunch of vacuum line parts at the dealer today and they should arrive later this week. I'm sure some of it I wasted money on because I was going off some craptastic GM engine breakouts, but either way I'll post my findings when I get the parts.
