Hello from Idaho

Post by MOTO »

New member here, owner of a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville GXP. I was a GM technician for 5 years, trained through GM's ASEP program. After a while I decided I didn't like working in the automotive field because it became to easy. I am now employed as a patrol deputy for a county here in southern Idaho. Looking forward to seeing what discussions the tech forum has to offer as well as seeing what everyone else drives.

Hahaha, very true. I do have some electrical issues going on with the back doors. I'll get to those later, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be a shorting door harness. Thanks for the reply!

Electrical issues in the doors are pretty common. What are the exact symptoms? I would bet that the splice under your drivers seat is rotted if the windows and power locks don't work back there.

It keeps displaying a message saying that the rear doors are open, and it keeps blowing a fuse for the passenger door module. I check that splice, thanks for the input.

That splice getting corroded is a common problem that leads to the windows and power locks not working on the three passenger doors or any combination of one or two of them. I was more or less just tossing that out there as it is such a common problem, but blown fuses and the DIC saying rear doors open are not symptoms that I am aware of with this splice getting corroded / failing.

Post up in the electrical section and I am sure we can get it straightened out for you!
