Another HID post: Projectors for 9006 DDM Kit?

Discuss washing, waxing and detailing information as well as interior/exterior cosmetic modifications. This includes neons, body, cosmetic wheels, etc. Even under the hood detailing.

Another HID post: Projectors for 9006 DDM Kit?

Post by *B2* »

I picked up a 9006 DDM kit a couple years ago but never installed because I didn't want to do HID "the wrong way." Is there a reasonably priced projector that would fit this kit? Not looking for the best of the best, just a well priced projector that will still be a big upgrade to the stock lights. Thanks guys.

Are they compatible with the Morimoto Mini's?

Morimoto Mini will take either the H1 or D2S bulb, depending on what type you get. I run H1 and it's slightly cheaper. I think best case scenario, you should be able to get away with keeping your ballasts and relay harness (if you have one). I don't know of any modern projector that will take 9006. If the cost difference isn't much more, consider getting the entire Morimoto kit with a new 3Five ballast. They are light years ahead of anything DDM provides.

You will be able to reuse your DDM ballasts if they have AMP outputs like the connectors on the right:

Both my H3 HID fog kit from DDM and my Morimoto 3Frive ballasts have them.

Thanks! So, assuming the outputs are AMP (I don't have it at my apartment) I can use H1 bulbs with a bi-xenon Morimoto Mini projector? Thanks again, this stuff confuses me.

Short answer: Yes. The projector install is easier said than done, be sure to read here: http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... 25703.html

I never did get around to the FX-R swap, too much crap going on!
