Just a little bit? FWI or proper CAI; exhaust (high flow and 3" down-pipe and cat), and make sure you keep the basic maintenance up to snuff.

Re: 1992 pontiac bonnieville ssei question
I'm sure it's been referenced before, and will again, but the 4t60 can't handle much more torque than it already does, that alone would be a $2500+ investment to make it 'able'. If you want more power, turbo swap. Enough turbo lag should help out with that issue.
But, yes you can do headers (custom or LG3 re-flanged), pulley drop, inter cooler (custom), exhaust, camshaft (custom grind from one of the popular manufacturers IIRC), rockers, etc... Notice that a lot of stuff is custom. If you have the money or tools to do them yourself is about the only way to do it at all. Pretty much, any mod you can do to the series 2 can be done to the series one. But no mass-produced parts. Everything would be made to order at a machine shop or similar. Pulley, camshaft, and rockers are the limit to common available parts.
And, yes, most of these custom mods will require a re-tune. If you have the money to go to all the trouble, then you have the money to swap in a turbo built series 2 & 4t65 or 4t80 and push 450hp+, and be more reliable for it.
It's not a budget engine to build up, unfortunately. I would consider a custom 4t80 swap (a lot of work) before trying to build the series 1 L67 or trans. Or convert the series 1 to OBD-2 and use the 4t65e-hd, but even then you're limited.

I've put a series 2 in my '93. That's one option.

Search works great. Search for "Series II swap" or something like that.

You can get a pulley from Pulley Boys. Shoot for 2.3".
Chip from Hypertech or Jet. Hypertech is available off the shelf. Get the theromaster version with the 160 degree thermostat. The Jet chip, I think you have to call them to get it and it costs more.
Get a new transmission vacuum modulator. It'll be adjustable and you can firm up the shifts a bit.
Search Rice Pipe for info on a decent DIY cold air intake.
A muffler for an F-body will work with some welding. I've got a Magnaflow 2.5"in/dual 2.5" out and one of their universal 2.5" hi flow cats.
A cam will be a custom grind from Crow. Search Crow under my name and you'll find a post about it.
You could swap to a gen 3 M62 supercharger with matching throttle body from a 94/95. It will require increased fuel pressure (like from a Series II L67 FPR) and either custom tuning or a MAF calibrator like ZZP has and carefull live data scanning. And a little creativeness to combat the poor seal you'd get from the mismatched '92 EGR tube and the slightly larger EGR inlet on the SC. A little gasket work and some high temp RTV seems to work for me.

Re: 1992 pontiac bonnieville ssei question
Sure a turbo will fit. Lots of spendy custom work though.
