I'm pretty certain that any solution you put will sound good. It's hard to mess that up on a Northstar. The question becomes - how much drone will you have and how much you can handle.
On the cheap end you can get good sound but will have drone - on occasion you will get lucky with your piping/muffler combination and it'll work out to be quiet. If you want to drop four figures on a new Corsa system (Part number 14151), it'll scream like nothing else and be drone-free and quiet when you're not pushing it. Construction wise they are straight-through but Corsa works some sort of magic to eliminate drone. They also add another muffler/resonator right after the cat. Many here have seen this before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlKgtt8jlWc&t=45s&hd=1

The Corsa is the most awesome in my opinion, however it is rather expensive. You really can't make the Northstar sound bad. Flowmasters will be the most throaty. But Magnaflows will sound amazing too. See here:

Re: Gxp exhaust
The only "catback" you'll find is the Corsa, and that requires a little modification. Everything else is going to be buying mufflers and having them welded in.
Bye Bye:

He has Magnaflows Seth.
I get drone at certain RPM's.

Re: Gxp exhaust
I know others have done because I've seen the you tube videos. I was hoping for there input on how bad it echoed inside the cabin. This is also my first V8 with aftermarket exhaust, so maybe it's just me.

Re: Gxp exhaust
Mine was Magnaflow and I have mine out on Youtube (which is what you probably watched).
Borla, in general sounds like someone rattling a bunch of rocks in a tin can. Flowmaster only sounds good on old school BBC's, SBC's and 5.0's. Just my opinion. It does not reflect those of management.
I prefer DynoMax or Magnaflow personally. I used two Magnaflow 12225 mufflers (2.25"), and 2 35121 tips, and two appox 1ft sections of 2.25" stainless that I bent to roughly 30* angles (not exact, just saying that as a description), to bring it back out the back of the car properly.
The only complaints I have with Magnaflow;
1) It left a bit of drone around 75mph. I could tolerate it, but the Wife hated it when she would be in the car
2) I would paint the Magnaflow's, or they will look like this after awhile (these are on my GXP);

It is a perfectly normal process of the metal protecting itself. It is NOT rusting through. It just looks bad. So to counter, I would go sand/grind it down, and apply a high temp silver paint. I do this on all my Magnaflow cars now, including the Bonneville, the Caddy, Jovan's Bonneville, etc...
I do not have any after painted pics other than my STS;

I'm pretty sure your car is the one I saw on YouTube.My drone is pretty much every time I hit the gas but I have to go back to the muffler shop tomorrow to get one of my tips installed because they ordered the wrong one so hopefully that will help out the Noise inside the car. If that does not work I may have to put some insulation under the trunk. By the way my magnaflow's are stainless are yours?

Re: Gxp exhaust
Just the regular stainless. Not paying for the high polish ones, that will look the same after 6 months, resulting in me having to paint them just the same.

Re: Gxp exhaust
As said before, zero drone with the Corsas. Stock sounding on the highway, a bit of noise on light acceleration, and full out screamer when you get on it. Tips may have an effect, but I think the type of muffler is the issue at hand here. You may have improved (or even worse) drone with different models of Magnaflow. Pipe bends, diameter, and length also have an effect, did you touch anything there?
The GXP does not have a muffler/resonator right just behind the cat when stock, but the Corsa system adds one on top of the two at the back. If you have the resources to play around with your setup, that may be another option to tune out certain frequencies that cause drone.
