Re: Street PCM tune
You can get mail order tunes from both intense racing and zzp. Also, if you have a buddy with hptuners they can use that to tune the car. Otherwise, take it to a shop with a dyno and have them tune it just like any other shop. Some people like the mail order tunes, some don't. For a bone stock car, I think they work great, but if you're planning on modding, I would either wait until I finished mods to tune or go to a shop that can tune your car better than a mail.order tune can guess at.

Re: Street PCM tune
Mail order tune is the best option for someone who's not all that into performance, but wants a little more out of the stock PCM.

Re: Street PCM tune
I purchased a PCM from Intense when I bought the Bonne. Slight increase in MPGs, and noticeably better throttle response. An intake would be a nice pairing with a tuned PCM.

Re: Street PCM tune
Intake gave me a 1.0 MPG increase in my all city driving. That, the sound, and the throttle response make the intake super worth it.

A gutted air box is a good cheap(free) way to increase air flow.

And have you replaced your LIM gaskets and replaced your upper intake manifold?

Re: Street PCM tune
Lim and uim I have not done no. As for if they were done I have no idea. I looked at uim and date says it was replaced in 03' so Idk... I did flush the dex out though. Prob need to replace them since they just put more dex in after replacing them anyway. I've been holding off on doing them because of time. Plus I would love someone with experience helping just in case I push the self destruct button.

Re: Street PCM tune
Tuning should be done after basic mods, and by a tuner in-person. Canned tunes are one-size fits all, and it seems 3800's are about as one-size fits none as it gets.

There's GMTuners.com / SinisterPerformance. The communication and helpfulness made a big difference. Mine was mail order and gave mild performance boost. I really was just looking to raise the speed limiter. This was a 94 though.
