new tips!

Post by psburtis »

well, so i finally got paid for last month, and it's time for a little upgrade to my STILL stock exhaust system. i already have the muffler, magnaflow for those of you who care, but i want some suggestions for tips. i already have a pair i like, but i've only found them on ebay and they sell for $100 plus shipping for the pair:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0238673831

does anyone know where i can get these/ones exactly like these for cheaper? also, if anyone has any suggestions with pics i'd love to hear them.

Specs on the muffler:
2.5" inlet
2-2.25" outlet

Yes he was, get them, they are worth it, and they look awesome.

If you find any cheaper than that, they probably aren't stainless.

Those are the one's we put on the 97 Ei and I believe I got them on Ebay for $89.95 plus shipping. They look great on the car, but I found they stuck out to far so I had to cut the exhaust tips back about 1.5" and weld them on.

Everyone that is telling him how good they look on their cars are not taking into account that Parker has an SE -seems everyone who has them on their cars has an SLE, SSE, or SSEi at least, with the cutout's in the bumper. He has no cutout's in the bumper. The quads on a Bonneville SE just wouldn't look right.
I'd suggest something more oval and single outlet on each side.

Actually, there's someone who had a SE that had the same tips and they look amazing...

I can't remember his SN, it was a 97 with three transmission replacements...

EDIT: Found it! putertopia

That's the guy who sold me on these exact tips! i never talked to him, but i remember seeing them and saying to myself, "those are the ones!!!"

actually, i was originally going to get some single outlet tips, and they were most likely going to be the oval ones, but when i saw Putertopia's tips, i just had to have the EXACT same ones... haha. right away when i got them in the mail (2 days ago) i took them out to my car and put them under the bumper to see how they looked, and they follow the contour of the bumper very well.

they are getting installed monday (i know i've said that before, but i'm just so excited!!!), so i'll be sure to post some before/after pics for all of you. i can't wait!!!

oh, and does anyone have any opinion on where they should be placed? i can't decide if i want them wider or narrower centered... i may just put them as close as they would have been on a stock SSE/SLE/SSEi bumper as i can, that seems to be the safest bet...

i'll make it easy on you guys. Compared to putertopia's, should i have them placed narrower, the exact same, or wider.

i'd start a poll, but it would seem kind of pointless, because i'm getting it done tomorrow. if no one has any preferences, i'm probably just going to have them a little wider than putertopia's, more centered under the oval bumper reflector thing...
