Car not starting

hello,

I am owing a 2002 Pontiac bonneville sle model. from last few days i was facing a problem like it was mis firing a lot, starting was in 3-4 selfs etc. I checked it with a obd scanner and found that MAP sensor is faulty with a P0108 code. I bought a new sensor fro orielly and installed it. The problem started just after installation. Now my car is not starting up and showing no sign at all. just a tic-tic sound coming on while trying to start and SECURITY light is ON with anti lock. I tried replacing the old sensor again but still the problem is same. Please help. This was my first time changing anything in the car of my own and problems has started :(

update:

now the security sign is off too. no signs of car getting started.no sound, no lights, nothing.seems to be car is dead. called AAA for a battery boost if that helps.

car is starting now by jump start and it's better fuel mileage, probably due to new MAP sensor...and the code gone too

still the car is mis firing (giving jerks) while driving...any suggestions to resolve the problem?

When does it misfire? All the time? Just during acceleration? Idling? When were the plugs and wires last replaced? If your battery is bad, replace it. Low voltage can cause all kinds of woes on these cars.

it mis fires sometimes during acceleration and sometimes during contant speed. also it used to vibrate crossing 70+. I am not sure when the last wires and plugs were changed as I bought the car just 2 months back.

How many miles are on the car?

At 10 years, the original wires need replacing if they are the originals. If the wires have the number for the plug to which they run stamped on the plug wire, then they are the originals.

The original plugs are supposed to be good for 100,000 miles if they are the original iridium plugs by GM. A front plug needs to be taken out to see what are in there. If the white ceramic upper is dirty and it doesn't rub off, they have been in a while.

If your check engine light is on start there. (if it is on) sensors will cause all types of wacky symptoms as well as bad coil packs, or like stated above tune up components.

okay...the start problem is resolved now by changing the map sensor. a weird thing happened today...i was getting my car checked at a mechanic shop for the jerks that I am getting while driving,the hud was open,I started the car and there whew,there was smoke from the engine under the covered area. mechanic open the cover and checked and found nothing. I started again it was up in half self.

mechanic is saying that the key was in ON position from a long time and it creates some type of gas and that's why it smoked that time. he advised to keep key in off position and make it to ON only when to start the car.is it right? or I should get it checked with some other mechanic?

I'm having a very similar problem, my 2002 pontiac bonneville sle is driving me crazy.
When I go to start the lights in the dash come and doesn't start. Then I run the key three quarters and after the Bells come on then I try and something it will start and then run fine, only when I'm in a hill I feel a kinda bucking back resistance feeling. Sometimes car will start first or second try but sometimes I'm sitting there 10-20 mins. I need help please.
