Re: easiest way to drain gas tank?
There are a couple methods.
#1. Remove the fuel pump from the tank via the access hole in the trunk, and then just syphon it out the regular way.
#2. Disconnect the fuel line at the rail, add an extension to clear the engine bay, and then hotwire the fuel pump to run and pump fuel out the line.

I wouldnt do a thing, one tank of regular gas isnt going to hurt. maybe drive it for half a tank and fill up with premium again.

Octane booster does nothing, one can of off te shelf stuff is 0.1 octane points.

Add a gallon or so of Toluene to it if you are really worried about and want to up the octane rating.

Isn't it possible to just stick a "Georgia creditcard"/hose down the regular fill port and siphon from there ? That'd be my plan!
Re: easiest way to drain gas tank?
where can I buy toluene? I searched it at Home depot and got this, but not sure if it is the same.

If I were in your shoes.....I'd make darn sure that toluene won't fry your sensors before putting in your tank. Got any dragstrips close by ?

Just siphon it out and sell it to one of your friends. Easiest way.

Try a paint store such as Sherwin Williams or something similar. Most Home Depot stores carry it, but some do not.

IIRC, Bill said you had to be pretty precise with your measurements/calculations to make the Toulene work.
Re: easiest way to drain gas tank?

Don't just drive it if you have any options otherwise. While one tank won't hurt some, willwren had some pumped in at a station and 10 miles later bye bye pistons.
I agree with Toluene. 1.5 to 2 gallons in an 18 gallon tank should be plenty.

How much gas was left in the tank before filling with regular? 1/4, 4-5 gallons?
