Roaring/ Humming noise

Post by pnarron »

I have a 2005 Bonneville SE that is making a roaring noise and a humming noise that stops when I turn left and starts back as soon as I finish the turn. It has been doing this since yesterday. I had the hub bearings replaced in March of 2011, could it be the hub bearings again?

What brand did you replace them with? How many miles ago was it?

Very much likely the left bearing. The noise stops or lessens when you take weight off the offending bearing.

I cant remember the brand, but it's been around 65,000 miles. In the past 6 months I've replaced the mass air flow sensor, cat converter, o2 sensor, 2 coil packs, coolent elbows, fuel filter, brakes, battery and I guess the hub bearings and my compressor will be next. Hope this will do it for a bit. ( I escort oversized loads when I'm not inspecting houses)

Yes, it was the left bearing and this time I got the bearings with the 3 year warranty, Thanks for the help. ( only took 40 min thats good for me, but I did break my brothers breaker bar.)

Like you are being followed by an airplane or helicpoter?

Most likely a hub or both.
