34mm sway bar upgrade?
I saw a post recently that mentioned upgrading to a Cadillac front sway bar. searched forum using "cadillac sway bar", "deville sway bar" and "34mm sway bar" and didn't get any hits that were helpful.
if there is an existing topic that has all the details, please point me to it, otherwise can someone spell it out?
correct me if I'm mistaken, my understanding is that on the 92-99 (that's what I'm interested in) the front bar is 30mm on the SE and 32mm on the SSE. other posts say something about a 34mm bar. So is this a bolt in swap, a noticable change in handling that makes it worthwhile if you want flatter cornering? Specifically which year/model of Cadillac has the bar? Any other cars (i.e. Park Avenue) that might have the bar?
as I said, please just point me to an existing topic that covers it, or clear this up here, either way much appreciated. thanks

Re: 34mm sway bar upgrade?
I'd be interested to hear as well. I think it's Addco that makes a thicker rear bar.

1985-1993 Deville.
I've had no luck finding any over the years as they all seem to be 30mm or 32mm.

Re: 34mm sway bar upgrade?
so I take it that the 34mm front sway bar on the 85-93 deville was not the standard equipment, it was a low volume option? any more specifics on what to look for, do I have to get under each one I see and measure the front sway bar, or is there a specific trim option, or RPO or anything I can look for at a glance that will tell me if a certain car has it?olblueeyesbonne wrote:1985-1993 Deville.

Nothing I can find on how to tell other than with a caliper, sorry.

Re: 34mm sway bar upgrade?
I looked around and found this Deville Swaybar on Seville and in that mix it seems the Deville bar is smaller than the Sevilles....
So I looked for Seville bars (very briefly) and the best I could do was 32mm at Swaybars.com

Re: 34mm sway bar upgrade?
I found mine by chance. I had just gotten a digital calipers and was looking for a 21mm rear bar.
Look for the "touring sedan/coupe" and alloy wheels ('85-'88, '92+ IIRC)

Re: 34mm sway bar upgrade?
so you are certain the front bar you pulled off the deville was a stock factory sway bar, there was some sort of tag or stamp on the bar that confirms it's a GM part? There's no chance you happened to find a car that had an aftermarket or custom sway bar previously installed?

Re: 34mm sway bar upgrade?
Rockauto offers 34 mm sway bar bushings for it, so that sounds like a stock size.

Re: 34mm sway bar upgrade?
I'm certain it was stock to the Seville, with the touring suspension option. I think it's the same car that has the H-body rear disk brakes; but the one I found was missing the rear end.
