Project Black Sheep is under way!

Post by Roadtech195 »

Finally had some time today to get things lined up. I took care of a few cosmetic things to get the ball rolling.

The spoiler is off in this pic because I plan on blacking it out, it is currently chrome.

Saturday I have a date with the tire shop to get these put on:

Image
Motegi MR 119 18 inch and Falken ze 916's to go on them.
Later next week I have to bring the car to Serious HP in Houston to see about getting a turbo kit installed. If its a no go then over to Hennessey I will go.

When I saw the green I wasn't sure, but it's nicely put together! The rims will look good!

Make the kids walk, I had to.... get a 04+ GP and you won't regret it. The L32 is very fun to have but even a base model is more refined than the previous generation. Tons of aftermarket for them too.

Haha my 2 week old cant walk yet. I've been eying an 04 Comp G at the stealership for a few months now. Might just go bring it home and "surprise" her with it. lol. It's sharp though. I loved my 97 and after owning that one, I told myself i would get an 04+

My 07 is just a base model with the L26, and it's a great engine. It has heated leather, auto climate control, moonroof, 5 button DIC... all the creature comforts. Only thing I wish it has is HUD. This generation is much more refined that the previous, and they have all the bells and whistles.

I never thought I would find a suitable replacement for my Bonneville but this car has been fantastic and just as reliable. The compG is equivelant to the SSEi and the Grand Prix GXP is right on par with a Bonneville GXP but has a better engine and suspension.

Yeah, I did a srt4 turbo swap into her 01 base model neon. Thing is screaming fast but to little now with 2 kids. Sooner or later, I'll be back in the Grand Prix game! And hopefully boosted

Car looks pretty good!

Don't go to Hennessey. I have heard a LOT of bad things about them...

Hey Jim how are ya? It is closer to the second color. I used a base coat of black to tone it done a notch. Its hard to do anything to this car and not have it look ricer.

00Beast, what have you heard? I appreciate the heads up.

Wow and I thought he was a good guy. I followed your link that lead me to a dozen other links and I am shocked. Well more disappointed really...
I was actually about to fork over the money to enrole in his tuner school. I just can't do business with a guy like that, knowing he screws people that much for a living.

Yeah, Hennessy is trouble unless you're putting up big bones.

I don't like the different colored grills up front, IMO they should all match (and not be green).

That green may make a nice time-attack style strip on the wheels you're mounting to help break up the sea of black you will no-doubt run into.

The grills will match when I am done with them and I am not sure the green is going to stay. I am more of a fan of the totally blacked out look on an Eclipse but its my gf's ride and she for some reason likes green. I told her we should paint the whole car skittles green and black out the spoiler and grills.

Yes that is a 62 Impala and it is also a work in progress.

Image

Next plan of action is a 2 inch drop all the way around and hopefully a new GTR front bumper and some black leather seats with lime green stitching and matching shifter boot.
