Picked up a 1999 Nissan Sentra SE-L. It has the SR20DE motor that puts out 140hp. It's a 5spd, power windows, locks, and sunroof. Body has 190k miles, engine and trans has around 80k. I got it from a coworker for $400. She's the 2nd owner with her uncle being the first. Runs great and no leaks. Newer tires on it. Needs some body work, paint, and some little odds and ends.
Whatcha guys think?

Yeah it runs great and got some power for a little car. I'll be slightly modding this. Nothing major unless I can find a turbo kit for cheap I put $20 in the tank and got 3/4 tank last Tuesday and drove it to work and back about a 30mile round trip until Friday and still have a little over 1/4 tank

And I'm not into the whole rice thing. I believe imports can be "tastefully" done. That's the plan for this. No bodykit, insane huge wing, or fart pipe. Just some coilovers, wheels, tint, new paint, and fix the body damage and call it good. Def some go fast goodies too

I think the Sentra of that vintage was pretty fugly...I remember being stationed in Guam and seeing them thinking to myself "Gawd, those are ugly". I'd rather have the 200SX...for some reason they look better with 2 doors, but not by much.
I'd hit the previous gen SE-R as those were some mean mofos. But those are very hard to come by now, and finding one even in ragged out condition nets a premium.
2005 GXP - White Gold Pearl, no mods...yet.
2000 SSEi - Resurrection in progress. Built L67 w/L32 fuel rail, ported heads, and cam. Camaro front brake system, GXP cluster, and much more in planning.

Yeah I would of rather got the 200sx or a se-r over this anyday but for the price and only having 1 car right now to share among.me and the girl just wasn't cutting it. She'll prolly end up driving this as I just swapped a srt4 motor in our base model neon and is quite fun to drive around. And for the price, I couldn't pass this one up.

Also, she just landed an awesome paying job and is looking into getting a newer Charger. So if she does, this car will be getting gutted and turned into a rally

Thanks! She's came a long way from when I got it. Gotta take care of this stupid o2 sensor that keeps popping up. Got a new one that just needs to be wired up and installed. Other then that, she runs and pulls hard for a 4 cylinder.

I really like my Eco manual transmission, the odd duckling in the Cruze lineup. At least with the Eco-specific gearbox, my fuel economy is great. The DIC says 49 mpg at the moment, which is about 45 mpg in real life. That's mostly highway and small-town driving. The car is really comfy for long distances, and is pretty fun to drive even when driving for fuel economy. That being said, on the OEM fuel-economy-special tires it has no problem holding 50-55 mph through cloverleafs marked 30 mph, as long as it's dry out.
I've heard some issues with fitting a rear-facing carseat into either rear seat if you're much bigger than 6 feet tall and 250 lbs or so. So if you have a young one, test the car seat first to make sure you are comfortable in both front seats with the car seat in back. I don't have any rugrats yet, so I wouldn't know.

Learn from the mistakes of others, that way when you mess up you can do so in new and interesting ways.
Hmm I'm 6'7" and 210. That might be a problem but thanks for the info, I really like the looks of them and the mpg is def a plus. Maybe we'll swing by and test drive one with the car seats in it and go from there.
