2002 bonneville se trans surged or lurched stalled once

Post by dkc »

Ok i have a 2002 bonneville se with 155,000 miles on it just bought it about a month ago .I have put about 2500 miles on it since
with no problems so far .I did flush out all the dex cool and change the thermostat to a moto rad 195 deg unit, the top of the motor
is spotless no leaks of any kind oil is clean uses no coolent .Now the problem is after driveing about 70 miles today i was siting
in traffic at a light the car kind of lurched then stalled (never did this before ) it started right back up and ran fine .I drove the car to a few more places and during that time the trans felt like it would lurch or jerk now and then it never stalled again and only did this
at low speed driving inner city 35 mph or less anybody have any ideas on this.

As a test, try disconnecting the MAF sensor and see if that makes a difference. We seem to be having a rash of failures of those lately.
