New tranny?

Post by 01ssei »

So its got about 135, 000mi and the tranny seems to be whining and shifting pretty hard specially from 1-2 & 2-3. Would a flush and filter change fix this or is a new tranny in need?

The hard shifts are due to the PCS and many mask it by installing a shift kit. A pan drop with a new filter and oil is a good idea and is part of installing the shift kit also.

doesnt hurt to drain, replace filter and refill. have seen it help some trans. don't know if the filters get clogged or what but its cheap adn worth a try.... It definatly won't hurt. Don't get a "TRANS FLUSH" just drain the fluid out the pan, change the filter and refill with fresh fluid (5-6qts iirc)
