I thought your Bonneville got taken away?? How did you manage to get a 06 Hemi Ram?

It's none of my business, but I doubt taking on a large truck payment was the best decision. Truck values are dropping very quickly and well result in a nice pile of negative equity. Then think about the poor gas mileage.
Why did you buy another vehicle that requires payments and full coverage when you already have a car that's paid off?
Sounds like poor judgement...

Because my paid off car is about dead. I'd be lucky if it lasts another month.
On a side note Andrew...my portion of the payment is 180 a month.
Also i didnt get much choice in what kind of vehicle we got. It's in his name and he wanted a truck so thats what we got. If it was my choice, I would have gotten a 99 grand prix or something

Well, good luck with that. I agree with Vital but thats just our opinion. But why are you "splitting" the payment in the first place he is your fiancee right?
Nice truck but ....

Nice truck. I agree that it wouldn't have been my first choice with the current energy/economic situation, but if you are ok with it then I am happy for you. Enjoy it. I need and would love to have a truck but it isn't financially feasible right now and gas would kill me.
Congrats Leslie! I understand the sharing concept ....One has credit the other has cash. Win win for both. Especially if it's not in your name...you suffer the less risk of both parties. It's sort of like renting part of the vehicle. As long as you agree who gets to drive it when/where. I think that with the higher gas prices, people will find they have to resort to not only car pooling and sharing rides, but actually going down to one vehicle.
And I think that everyone is just looking out for your best interest however some did come across a bit harsh. To each his own right? If I could justify the cost vs need, I would drive a truck too!

Trucks have a bad rep on MPG's but what most here don't realize is manufacturers have come a long way. My Silverado gets a very respectable MPG and frequently better than the Bonnie due to driving style and mods.

They really haven't though. There's a reason why people aren't buying them. The end result is lower sales and plants being idled. They may have gotten better, but not enough to maintain sales or used values.

Please...let's not continue a "sales are lower because they truly are not efficient enough" vs "sales are lower due to a bad rap" here. Certainly it is a combination of both factors... neither of which are appropriate for Leslie's "I'm happy i bought a truck" thread.
Leslie... best of luck to you and your new truck. May it bring you much happiness and keep your family safe in the winter.
