I greatly appreciate the offer but I took both belts off and it was as quiet as could be!! So what's next? The noise changes when I put on the air/heat but doesn't go away. Looked at all the other pullys and they all appeared to fine. I did notice that the face plate of the air conditioning (?) motor was kind of loose...not sure if you know what I mean but ...anyway any more ideas??? :???:
2000 SSEi (Silver Eagle) cleared corners (before accident) new LIM gasket, drilled 180 T-stat, new plugs and wires, new valve cover gaskets, new Supercharger gasket, third brake light overlay. Hopefully soon to start more mods for performance. Also, 2005 White SE totally stock and will remain that way!

It is possible that you have a bad clutch/compressor for the AC. Did you see if there was any play in the HB? Any way to post a video?

HB did not turn at all...do want video of the sound or the clutch/compressor?

edit...is there any way to just replace the clutch or do you need to replace the whole compressor? I wish I could be sure that is the culprit!! I was sure it was the HB until I pulled both belts off! Might just have to bite the bullet and take it in to get a diagnostic on it!! arggggg

Looks like it is the HB after all...had a mechanic come and look at it and he was able to turn the HB back and forth as well as there are pieces of rubber coming off the face. He said the water pump is going bad too and I am pretty ticked at that because we just got through replacing that with the upgraded pump just a few months back!! I think I am going to hold off on that until it starts leaking!! Thanks for all the input and suggestions...as usual you guys rock!!

Let me know if you want me to ship one to you.

Glad you have it figure out. What are the signs of the pump going out that he showed you?

He was able to turn it back and forth and it had the rubber falling off the face of the plate.

Don't let that go on for too long. When they wobble, they start to wear into the front cover (timing chain cover).
